Armour Transport

PEEL1965

Sorry if there is already a thread out there like this, but I have not been able to locate it. Just wondering what the preferred method is for transporting armour and JP's. Thanks for your input in advance.
Blair.

I went to wal mart bought a 50 gal. duratote with wheels. When properly packed everything fits great and is easy to get to and form car and buildings.

I have a lock-box I bought at lowes for $50. Put casters on all corners, so I can just roll it anywhere I want it, it also makes a great luggage rack to stack stuff on for transport. =)

Thing is like a safe, and EXTREMELY tough. I fly with mine from time to time, so I like to know its safe and secure in the cargo hold...even if I gotta pay a little more to get it on the plane.

LOL, "Put Novall Talon in the Cargo Hold"

I use the same thing, it works great and has enough space to put padding for helmet, guants, ect.

Yeah, for the helmet, I use have the styrofoam box it came in since it's a MR. I use the face down part and it fits right in perfectly! They I just put my soft parts over the back part of my bucket that is exposed. I put the gauntlets in the tray it comes with. I have to take apart the left gaunt and lay it in two pieces but both gauntlets fit nicely and securely.

The organization is a work in progress for sure! These are also great since they're so sturdy to sit on...you can even stand on them and I weigh 2 hundred...

Thanks for the ideas gentlemen. The Stanley case looks pretty hard core. Just checked out some Pelican cases online. Look pretty cool. Airtight, watertight with foam padding. Hoping they give a police-friendly discount....

I use pelican cases for both my sandtrooper and my mandalorian armor. They were a bit pricey but they are totally worth it to me. I keep my helmets seperate though.

I started out with the Rubbermaid container slave1pilot has, butI didn't like the handle on that one... was just hard to maneuver. I eventually switched over to the Stanely chest and like it a lot better although it is a LOT heavier!

I went with a Pelican straight off...since I figured that the amount of money invested in my Fett build was worth the amount spent on a better protection case, despite the cost. :)

Halo_1, just wondering what the numbers are off of your cases. Got the 1650 off of the one with your armour. Wondering what the number is off the rifle case for reference. Thanks. Oh yeah, does your helmet and JP fit in the larger case as well?

Peel1965,

The smaller is the 1700. And yes & no. My JP fits fine into the 1650, but the helm is carried in a Military padded flight bag, the very same used by Fighter Pilots.

The right gauntlet is inside my hollow JP, together with my shin tools, wookie braids and extras...

Hope that helps...

Stay safe,

Tim.

That was extremely helpful Tim. Thanks for the info and photos of how you organize things. Think I may be mimicking that set up.....
