Hi all,

Does anyone here have (non-PM) contact details for Rimshot?
Maybe a phone number or direct email address?

He still owes me a lot of armor and a helmet (all of which were paid for months ago!!)

He's not answering PM's and I've not heard from him for over a month, so if anyone has any idea how i can get hold of him I'd be glad to hear from you.

I didn't find anything in my archived emails, and I was using a different account here at the time (that I stopped using long enough that I couldn't post with it anymore so had to re register with a new name) I'll see if I can find anything on the old account, if I can get into it even...

I was able to get into my old account and find the PMs from back in '04!

Don't know if this is still the case, but he wouldn't take paypal then, only Money Orders so I have his mailing address. I used his name and city to look up his phone number on Whitepages.com the address listed on whitepages.com is the same one he had given me in 04 so it should still be current, as should his phone number. I'll shoot you a PM with all the info I have.

I've spoken to him and the situation's like this:

He's all but given up both here and on the mercs site, which is why he doesn't answer PM's. He's not been here since October, not sure about mercs.

He's out of work and owes mommy and daddy money. He's spent all that I gave him.

A sale of a large prop (maybe the one up his a** ) fell through and he was going to use this money to pay for shipping the rest of my stuff.

Someone else (possibly his imaginary friend ) may be buying from him next week and he's going to let me know. Just like he promised me over a month ago - then.... nothing.

So, basically all I'm getting is bullsh*t


I've been doing a lot of thinking and I find myself in a position I do not like in the slightest. However, if his sale (if it even exists) falls through again I think I'm gonna send him the money so he can ship my kit to me.
I would do this because if I don't, I fear I won't ever see the the really important bits of my costume (helmet, flak vest and armor). So I end up spending a little more to prevent myself losing a great deal of money.

Nobby, it is good that he is talking to you, lets take that as a positive. However, if he is out of work he must have all the time in the world to be making prop stuff?

Are there any members living close to him that can help out, i.e. collect the stuff, or he can ship it inside the us (less cost), then you send them the money to ship to the UK? Sending him more money, although I see where you are coming from, is still a bad idea. Maybe another alternative is to pay a courier such as DHL to collect from his address, if it falls through and you loose your money at least he did not have it?

Also, what is he making for you and is it coming finished? I have been reading the other threads and can't keep up lol.

Well, positive that he's FINALLY talking to you. However, the whole I've given up here and Mercs that's why I don;t check the boards or PM's anymore, is a load of hogwash and makes him a thief and a contract breacher. I'm sure he was great in the old days however, in the last year he hasn't been at all. He's been a con artist.

So basically, he took peoples money they spent from props and shipping and spent it on his own personal needs and "floated" the existing orders with ne wincoming orders. However, when word got out that he was hosing people, new orders stopped coming, leaving the last batch of customers and you as well Nobby up the creek...

Maybe if you offer to go pick it up yourself...

You can even do a UPS call tag. They will go to his door and pick it up. That way you don't need to worry about him not having the time to go to the post office. Or some other lame reason. good luck..

Yeah, I've already requested these details from him.
But with it being Thanksgiving weekend, I haven't heard back from him yet.

I've also had a very generous offer from another member here to go pick up my stuff and send it to me (at my own expense of course).

Rimshot last said to me that he'd let me know on Monday or Tuesday about the 'deal' he has yet to finalise, but I'll keep you guys posted on any developments.

I think the issue here isnt as much as he doesnt want anyone coming to see where his family performs their illicit activities as much as it is that he doesn't have the stuff. In fact, I think the reason he wants Nobby to cough up more shipping money is to (maybe) buy the materials for the order.

That seems to be the way he operates and is among the reasons we banned him from Mercs. We won't tolerate sellers coming in and ripping off our members.

I hate to say it Nobby but, short of coughing up more $, I don't see you getting your stuff from this guy. Heck, even if you cough up the $, there's no promises.

I'd seen a post where someone had suggested contacting your and his local authorities. Honestly, the amount spent does come to a felony grand theft that he could potentially do state prison time for. If he doesn't answer up ASAP, I would go that route. You may not get your stuff but, you'll get justice that most theft victims never see and you have ALL of his contact info to provide. I recommended to our victims at Mercs to do the same and perhaps even try to go class action Federally as it crosses state lines and becomes multi jurisdictional.

Personally, you're handling this tremedously, very adult like, and should be complimented.

If it were me, I'd have gotten the local police's information, and let him know it's next step. Plus, i'd call this A**hole EVERY day, and make a point to speak to his parents EVERY day. He would eventually shutter and cringe EVERY time phone rang.
If my kid were truly in some trouble over a few $$ for shipping, i'd have already taken care of it for him, and taken care if the punishment myself. If the law was involved, most of our parents would IMMEDIATELY take care of it, and then take it out of our a**.

Hope it works out bro. If not, we'll all chip in to get THUNDERKISS down there and REALLY handle it... :-)

that's a good point; it's a very thin line to walk, but I think you've got a few yards (meters for all you non US folk) before you are anywhere near that line

This guy sux @ss!! I got my stuff, but....He told me 2-3 weeks after several went by with no PM's sent back, no emails. I filed a Paypal claim with just 1 day left to be able to do it. He got all p1ssed cause PP took money from him and back to me. i told him I will drop the claim as soon as I see a tracking number and it shows it has been sent.

I'd be worried he'll "ship" the items and claim the Post Office lost it or something. If he plans on shipping something through the post office of the size and weight of the things you are talking about it will cost more than 6 or 7 dollars with "a paper trail" meaning delivery confirmation or certified or other form of tracking information, a regular sized envelope sent certified is almost 6 dollars! Tell him he ships it with some sort of tracking number or deals off and you get the authorities involved. If he doesn't have a tracking number than he can claim anything he wants.

What I find absolutly amazing is I literly live 15 minutes from the town he is in. I gave my phone # to Nobby to give to him. Just wanted him to call and say, Hey i have 20 minutes, can you meet me at McDonalds down the road to pick up this stuff. Hop in the car, drive there, get it, done. Just drives me nuts. Nobby, if I get it by Thursday, will try to get the qoute for you on Friday and hopefully get it shipped out on Friday. At this point I am just about willing to just send the dang thing on Friday and then tell you what the total is. I feel bad it has taken so long.
What I think would be funny is if I show up in uniform at his mom and dads house what effect THAT would have. Should also see about bringing a state trooper thats in the garrisan with me

Rimshot is still currently trying to sell his Proton Pack on eBay (it's on my watch list) and when he eventually sells it I will be pursuing him for reimbursement. He's not getting out of things this lightly.

I've still got his phone number and me being across the pond, I can make things quite uncomfortable for him with repeated calls asking where my money is

Apparently my stuff is now on its way to Ernie.

Rimshot doesn't have a good record of providing tracking numbers... because usually the stuff didn't ship when he said it did.

Its called making sure Indiana doesn't get a bad rap. That and I have been scammed twice now in this hobby and it pisses me off. Figure I live 15 miles from him it won't cost me much to help.
