ANOVOS picks up the high-end Star Wars Costuming License!

Looks great! I wonder if it'll be possible to buy piecemeal? For example, if I wanted a Bespin jacket, would I have to buy the entire costume?

Here is one of the posts on the RPF:

"...we will have options that will service various levels of costuming need. We are still building out buy page drop downs so we will have more information as it comes"

So I can imagine they may make exceptions based on what you are looking for.

So people can just buy these and get into the 501st now?

There's more to 501st membership in most cases. The costume has to meet certain minimum standards, but also has to fit the wearer properly. As such, there's not really an "off the shelf" way to join the 501st unless you happen to be the same body size/shape as the previous costume owner or the manufacturer sells a complete suit that happens to match your dimensions.

The stuff looks good, but I want to see their fett suits, if they are going to do them.

Saw some at DragonCon. Looked really nice. I'd be interested in a Tie helmet/armor, but no way would I do a pre-order like they're doing. They've delivered on s few select 501st TFA orders, but have they delivered on anything else? Several costumes they've gone out with pre-orders but I haven't seen any of it delivered yet. Looks like a risky business model to me.

I have preorderet a regular tk from them just to tjek quality. But no Way i trow more mony at them before i se what kinde of company im dealing whit here.

Frank Ippolito was wearing Anovos Dark Trooper armor around DragonCon. You can see it (sort of...) on Tested's DragonCon Walking Tour video.

Looks like anovos has started sending C&D letters to prop builders. A 501st member was send one the other day. From what I have read it looks like anovos has some 501st members and they may have been the ones that let anovos know about the prop builder. I wouldn't be surprised if the fett prop builders get one once the anovos helmet comes out.
Not trying to stir the pot, just letting people know what is going on.
I wouldn't sweat it, ANOVOS will eventually go out of business just like every other Replica Prop company.

I'm starting to agree with that statement Their track record of getting product delivered hasn't been stellar and still taking pre order money for other licensed products i ordered the TK and shadow kits. I ordered a TNG communicator supposed to have gotten it already i sent an email and was told it was back ordered supposed to get it sometime this month. A guy in my garrison ordered the star trek premium movie costume he received the under shirt after 6 months of supposed delivery and all the other pieces piece meal months later said took a year to get it

If they have 501st guys working for them it is sad they would go after prop builders ( yet with Disney involved obviously expected). Their Facebook is just non stop posting about people not getting their stuff. Sure, it was cheap and prob is going to be ok for the $$ but you would think they should have SOMETHING Star Wars in legitimate production by now. Especially when they just keep adding to the pre order list.

Being one of the guys in your garrison had I ordered I would too :)

It stinks. Their stuff looks really cool in pictures and maybe it is a case of biting off way more than they could chew but taking soooo many people's money without an actual product available just doesn't seem right - Good deal or not. And I am sure a lot of people thought it would be a great way to get into the hobby and now will be pretty upset. Anovos won't care- they have the license and the money will just roll in like it is now without even having to give anyone a suit.

Just a guess but all the money they are taking in and without shipping anything.....leads me to believe that money is going to their loan they took out for the license. I bet they fold if what i hear keeps up.

If you folks remember the guys that started ANOVOS are former 501st members so i'm sure they still get on the forums hence the C&D i honestly believe if they keep up with their practice of taking money and slow or no delivery and upsetting 501st and other fans i think LFL will step in and revoke their license i'm still going to wait on my product being delivered

I don't think, based on their track record , that Disney will care about the fans. They send C&D letters and don't ever seem to lose. And Lucas has sued over the word Droid which is insane. Hopefully it doesn't go very far... Make billions of $ and worried about someone selling a few suits or helmets a year. If you want to ready bizarre copyright stories - look up Katy Perty suing a guy for selling Left Shark 3D printed figures.
