Ace of Cakes and Boba Fett?

Okay, so my sister Tivo's Ace of Cakes and I turned on the TV last night and what do I see? They were making the Slave I for some guy's wedding!

AND one of the girls on the show was wandering around at some point with a stormtrooper helmet on...

So... fess up. Who was it? I know it was one of you that commissioned this cake.

lol Just kidding. :lol

It was pretty funny though to see them do it and talk about people that are "that into stuff like this."

In the end, they did a pretty decent job too.

They mentioned that the people that are really into Star Wars are very detail oriented & would pick it apart if it wasn't right.

I don't even know what Ace of Cakes is, I can figure it out though, not the point... Those 2 words just made me laugh! It was straight to the point and I just found it quite funny.

It was an awesome cake the woman who did all the detail on it was very particular the cake looked awesome:D

I think it looks pretty cool. IS that ALL cake? or part of the Slave on top?

The "tail" or region below the cockpit is mounted on a wood board that is supported by a post that runs through the base of the cake, but aside from that structural support and the ones holding the "fins" on, yes it's all cake. It was then painted with an airbrush for the most part.

I think of the Motorhead song "Ace of Spades"

That's the 2nd Star Wars cake I know of that was done on that show. They did a Falcon one once.

One of the guys on the RPF is Duff's brother
Some of their cakes are awesome & some are so-so (IMHO)

They made an ISD a while back too. That was pretty cool really.

Ace of Cakes is all about persona. Duff has that in spades. Their cakes are average and I cant knock him for riding the wave of popularity ala American Chopper and the Tuttles.

There are some incredible, absolutely killer cake makers out there and much more talented chopper builders.

So if you can achieve small detail like the links above, you can acheive a much better Slave 1 cake.
