I was reading how to get into the 501st and it said you can if you own you know a movie awesome correct outfit or armor but i heard that you have to make it and not aloud to buy it from places so i was wondering do you have to make your own armor or can you buy it from star fortress or other places like that?

Do not buy from Star Fortress.

And you can buy things to make your 501st costume.

I would really suggest checking out www.501st.com. They have the costume requirements for some of the outfits, and more importantly, they can put you in contact with the GML for your area, who can provide a wealth of info regarding what'll you need.

Yes, you can buy your armor. It just means you can't buy mass produced pieces of junk (Rubies). So an FX kit will do fine, just replace the boxy looking helmet.

And don't buy from Starfortress.

I have no idea who or where you heard that statement from, but it is completely false. Otherwise I would not be in the 501st. You may have heard some of the enlisted say that they made their own costumes or that most of the stuff is hand-made, but that does not necessarily mean it was made by a highly skilled prop maker and purchased.

Like others have already posted, I would not recommend you purchase from SFP. If you are looking for anything Fett-related, I would encourage you to check out some of the prop makers work right here on TDH.
