New Hunter
Hello,
I am fairly new to this site and have been watching a lot of threads and tutorials while building my Fett for 501st approval.
I have finally finished and submitted this past week and wanted to post up some photos for any thoughts or feedback. Maybe even some future upgrades. :)
Lots of shout outs too for help and suppliers for my parts.

I want to start with thanking Ramey from SO CAL GARRISON IE SQUAD for all of your help and support throughout this build. I definitely could not have done it without you!

DVH Props, Darth Voorhees Lou for all the assistance in answering questions and troubleshooting. As well as my RF topper. GREAT GUY!
JC27 for the awesome light kits!
Big Dane for the awesome Jetpack Harness.
Arkady for my wonderful Vest and Neck seal.
MOW, Christian for my boots, jumpsuit, ammo belt, and Jetpack.
Machineafett for my darts and stabilizer.
Full metal fett for my harness and jetpack connectors/brackets and divers belt.
toolguy301 for the awesome build thread that I patterned a lot of my work on, 3D printed pieces (keypad and dental expander), and all the support.
Salamanderking for my Servo kit (Pending install) :)
Moonsault for my wookie braids.
Machinecraftreplicas for my dart, knee darts, beacon, flame thrower tips (pending install).

I painted my armor and helmet using RafalFett's templates. Wonderful work! Thank you very much!

I look forward to joining the ranks with you all with my response and approval.

Keep us posted!
working on my jetpack now got a question for you the to "deck" (where the beacon attach) and the vertical part of the jetpack is the transition there eased or is it a hard sharp corner?
I've seen pictures go either way.
also if so any tips on making that transition

Can you highlight in a picture which area you're talking about?

bpwmd..if your talking about the deck to the back panel, it is supposed to be eased.

Its a little hard to see here, but this is one of the prepro 3 packs believed to have ended up the ESB pack if im not mistaken.

Haha there should be no confusion, the pack i pictured is the real deal so thats how it should be! :D

Legion approval depends on the garrison GMLs. Some have less Fett knowledge than others so small things like this will slip by. Ive seen AWFUL looking jetpacks get approved that are clearly made with plastic cups and bottles n such. Now that should never have been cleared but theres nothing we can do. Now of course these items can be used but they need to be modded enough that you cant tell.

Toolguys pack that you linked looks fantastic and adding that curve would be minimal work since he did pitch the back outward towards the deck. That said, on the screen used pack, it is a curve from the deck to the back, so thats how it SHOULD be.

received_10154353975672438.jpegthis is a top pic would the easing stop just before it reaches that center tank hole? kinda hope so cause otherwise that's a lot of bondo. and if it does extend farther than that tank outline whats a good way of doing that without adding a ton of weight via bondo?

Approx like this...

I would maybe put a piece of foam board angled outward to about that spot and then just bondo the seams and just make the back to deck area a smooth transition.

When i did mine i just slopped a ton of bondo because i knew it wasnt going to be worn and i was going to just mold and cast the piece.

This jetpack is actually the Promo #1 which later became the ROTJ Hero pack, and used in the AoSW/C-IV exhibits.

bpwmd, never use other's work as a guide (only in some cases) without checking the real thing first, this is why the Gallery is your best friend. You can clearly see the curvature of the specific area you asked for:

Always use references over someones work. I will be the first one to tell you that there are inaccuracies with my jetpack & decisions were made during the build & how things were made to make the changes or just move forward. There were many tweaks & modification I had to make to the pep files that I used in order to get it to where is was & that area was something that I opted not to change at that time. I did change this area with my own design jetpack. I hope that my build process & techniques can be of help to you.

Thanks for the clarification Raf! I knew it was one of the hero packs or something like that haha! (y)

I think that build was fantastic Toolguy! Better than my initial foamboard build. But i do agree, always look at the real thing, not other peoples work..remember your trying to recreate what was seen on screen not what was seen on "the awesome Fett" on the SDCC floor last year haha :p
