work in progress: WoF gauntlets

hey stormtrooper guy, is there any way you can make me some gauntlets? Not out of the molds but out of the signs? I might trade or buy depending on the price.

I got a package in the mail today

I approached RussRep about "licensing" one of his rockets. Or, in more realistic terms, asking if I could make a mold of one and include resin copies with my gauntlet kits.

We agreed on a price for what is effectively a machined master and so the deal was done.

I got the rocket today and will be making the mold some time this week. Once we get some rockets going on some kits will start coming about.

I think the way it will work is that we'll post up "we have 2 sets ready" rather than taking orders. No danger of getting too far behind that way :)

A big thank you to Russ for helping out with this!!!

That is most definitely the smart way to do it.

So, to my understanding, you contact him to work out a price for his missile, because you aren't using it simply for personal use, therefore you pay a little extra upfront, or cut him in on the profit, because it was his original work for the gauntlet missile, that you will be making money off of. Therefore, you are able to sell your gauntlets for a little more than normal because of the added value, Russ gets more money than he would if he hadn't let you re-cast them, and the buyer gets better value because you cut out the middle man, therefore it is a win-win-win situation.

Right???

:p

yup, that's the basic idea.

we agreed on some money and some terms, and everyone gets better stuff than they would have otherwise!

now i've just gotta mold the foolish thing. what a crazy, complicated shape!!!

I'm pretty sure it will work going straight down the center... Good, high tear strength silicones can work around some crazy shapes.

If I can do a 1 piece mold for a clone helmet, I've GOT to be able to do this.

I'm half tempted to try a one piece mold for the rocket too.
