I just wanted to drop a note here as a newbie.
I have been costuming in various sorts of circumstances for 25 years. I have had the privilege of wearing items made by novices and those made by high end, award winning seamstresses and tailors. I have handled props of the same varying quality as well. Now there is a lot of truth in the old adage “You get what you pay for.”
I have to say I have never in twenty five years been more pleasingly stunned than I have by my experiences thus far dealing with the folks on this forum. I came here in roughly June of this year and have thus far made seven purchases from folks I found here. I have received five thus far and each and every one has been:
- More than fairly priced if not undercharged
- Exceeding my expectations in quality and workmanship
- Each maker has been friendly, helpful, and had great communication.
I am amazed at the quality here, the helpfulness, the comradery, and just quality of the people, the products, and just the whole TDH experience.
So speaking as a newbie to any other newbie that might come here and be wondering, “have I come to the right place?”
Dear lord yes! Yes you have. Save up your questions and ask them and save up your pennies and be sure to spend them here. You will not be sorry!
