WIP: Super Trooper Fett Variant, Celebration V

After much thought over the last few days, I have decided to build the rare, all-white Super Trooper. Due to budgetary and, serious forth coming time constraints in 2010, I felt this pre-production Fett variant would be much more easier to accomplish than a full on ESB, at this time. I am also knee deep in my Sci-Fire Clone Trooper project, in addition to revamping my custom snow clone commander. I will ultimately build an ESB, as I have a stunning FettPride painted MSH-1 ESB helmet that I am dying to wear in public someday.

The first items that I will start with will be the Jet Pack and the helmet. The helmet will be the new Fettpride Premium. This revamped helmet is clean and sharp, as it’s a perfect base for the all-white, semi-gloss paint scheme inherent to this very first Fett prototype. I will be also going with MOW’s 09’ VII Jet Pack and possibly MOW’s gaunts, though I can’t recall if the Super Trooper requires a modified Pre-Pro I configuration or, Pre-Pro III.

Here are some images of the Super Trooper, including a link to the TDH Wiki, and a video that recently surfaced on www.starwars.com . I can’t wait to jump on this project!

I will be posting pics, as I finish each component, as opposed to a real time, step-by-step tutorial style WIP. It's too time consuming otherwise.

@ Gilmore: Not sure. That's gonna be tough considering that no one makes those as a regular run. I am gonna pay out the nose I am sure for custom all white Boba Fett boots. I was thinking of maybe using a spray can shoe paint, but that might not work to well considering the darker gray, canvas type fabric. So, yeah custom I guess. Got to find someone to make them.

I saw your helmet build this morning Headless Hunter, over on the RPF. Looks nice and clean bud!

Hey thanks, yeah it was a fun build alright, the key is to get it ultra smooth, use Tamiya fine surface primer then wet sand it like never before! I finished with a coat of gloss varnish too, I could have wetsanded it more but my arms hurt

Just getting started on the same project myself
If you find someone to make the boots please let me know.
The gauntlets seem to be the same as the pre pro 1 set, with the triangular section metal tube on the underside of the left gauntlet.
BooBoo is currently working on a white ammo belt for me,that should be real sweet, but dose anyone know if the Super Trooper should have a white girth belt or not.The referance shots for the most part seam to not have one.

Best of luck with the project

Just been looking at the gallery again and I'd say that the Super Trooper,pre-pro1 and pre-pro3 all use the same left hand gauntlet.

Nice one Gav,that should save me a few quid LOL.
Didn't think I could see one.But some of the close up shots made me think there might have been one of the padded nylon type girths that I always see in the shops, not the cord one we all know about

Yep, no girth belt. One less cost to worry about! I need to give BooBoo a buzz about maybe making me a white ammo belt as well, thanks for the tip Full Metal Fett

I think the hardest part will be locating the Beach towel.
Unless, you are just gonna use a white cape.

Thank you Eric! Nathan I decided to fore go the beach towel and the wimpy weaponary for an ESB cape with ESB weapons for conventions. I will though hunt down the towel and replicate the Super Trooper weapons at a later time, for a proper photoshoot. I may need to outsource the paint work on the Jet Pack if you are interested Nathan.

Think I'll give the beach towel a miss as far as trooping goes. Was thinking of a white cape with a black section in the middle, kind of like the ESB cape.

    And what's wimpy about a "UZI 9MM"

Really? If I'm not wrong, the PP1 and PP3 had the same flamethrower.

    dsonic 1,

Does this mean that white boots may be possable on the CA boots run you've sorted?
Was kind of thinking I'd get some CA boots and a few tins of white blanco as there were rumors of them restocking early this year.
$250 from $120 is quite a price hike(yes I know they will be made in the US now,so labour costs will be more).
Will the be making the pattern more SA now,or will they be the same as the old ones?

Thank to Boba Die Wix for dropping in the link to his Super Trooper Fett project, what a treasure trove of reference for me to work with, got to love the TDH!! BDW also has a 2nd beach towel, and has graciously offered it to me. Thank you Stormtrooperguy for offering up the correct Graflex and Jet Pack component, and possible Uzi (airsoft) Got to love the TDH!

All white boots can be made!!! The price is the same as the regular Boba boots $250. Post up in the interest thread if you want a pair. A link will be added soon (hopefully w/in the next couple of days) for CAboots for pre-order payment.

WOW! Put me down! I got all my rare parts covered, amazing. I expected it to be much more hard harder to source the beach towel and Graflex, with the Jet Pack greeb and the Uzi LOL. I will have no excuse but to wear the towel and bring the sidearms to CV!

Okay, tiny update, but it looks like I have a couple of options on the Pre-Pro Gun and sling. I was just offered an original german "Kaiser Schulterstativ" , complete with a resin barrel. Plus, there is Seekers, with a custom machined aluminum barrel with replicated handle. I am thinking of picking up both and maybe putting the aluminum barrel on the original handle.

Sweet Darren! We got to clean that Super Trooper helmet up though! The blue coded Pineal Sensor is greenish, like the Pre-Pro I, II and possibly III. The two flashing magnetic field diffusers on top of the range finder are red just like all of the other Pre-Pros and film versions. The little circle on the right side, which has a cool name I am sure, but I don't know that one, is silver or aluminum in color. I also believe there is silver on the range finder ear cap, with subtle silver trim, but I am not quite sure yet. If you are building a new ESB, you ought to convert your old one into Super Trooper!

Hey Headless, do you think the the "turn signal" is the same color as all other Fett helmets, or is it in fact blue? Darren's is blue, yours looks to be blue as well.

I was thinking it would be a Red and Green, like the Pre-Pro I. I am going with the Pre-Pro I as my reference.

Okay, got a few PM's from vendors to respond to today. This weekends goal is to finalize all the details; budget, vendors, time lines etc. I want to start building February 15th. I do know that I will be building and painting the helmet, and all of the armor, myself. The Jet Pack I am outsourcing, and the boots and soft parts are already sourced. I will post my build-out plan once I have finished it.

I am curious if anybody knows who might make the Jet Pack grappling projectile where the fins open up? I will use the search function but was wondering if anybody knew off the top of there head. I know I saw a thread awhile ago where some one was machining one.

    Hey Brother,

Just a reminder. I am still sitting on your finished (Jan 8, 2010) Ammo Belt. I'm afraid if it sits much longer it might turn back into a cow .
