Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
Looks great for $27, and gets the point across very well! Nice work.
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
Hey mandalorian01- Pretty **** good for 1st time around man! Although I havent been in the mando game long enough to critique effectively as I am still learning myself..there is plenty of help on here : ). I say, keep working w/ what you have currently and as you progress w/ your research, fix and tighty things up as you go. I believe this is what makes this hobby fun as well as intriguing as you study and learn the intricasies of fettdom. Best of luck buddy!
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
yeah for $27 I couldn't have done much better. Great job, just don't let my wife see this or she's gonna want to know why I spend thousands instead of $27 like you lol.
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
First, if I were you I would look at this thread as a "look what I did" more than asking for a critique. Which is a good thing. Your showing you can get something better than Halloween quality, but not break the bank or spend 5 years making it.
Now, as to how you can improve this for not much more money..
Go to a Goodwill or something and see if you can get some white pants to match your top. Then a $2 box of Rit to get it a very light gray. the pants are almost not noticeable, but with the spats, it stands out.
Play with your plate alignment. Raise the collar and the rest of the plates. Raise the shoulder bells too. (possibly free!)
Get a can of Ultra Flat Black spray paint and mist your plates and suit. Hit the lower legs, bottom of the cape and other random spots harder. Built it up to be darker gradually. ($4)
Buy a thicker and cut a shorter piece pf pipe for your rocket. It will look better than the thin one ($2)
If you have a Michaels, pick up some cheap doll hair, usually pre braided for Wookiee scalps. ($5 ish)
Perhaps attach a tube to your gaunts to greeb it up. ($2)
Check out batninja's belt tutorial on here. You can make an accurate Boba belt for less than $10. Using it as a guideline, you can made an approximation for as little as $5
I think doing those couple of little things would improve your look quiet a bit. If you had extra paint, respray all your armor silver, then use mustard or toothpaste to "paint" on spots where damage would be. Then spray the yellow on all of it. Wash off the mustard/toothpaste once the paint dries. Then re-add the masking (the mustard) to the now silver spots and then some more places that you want yellow to show through. Respray the green on the appropriate plates. See if you can pick up some Pumpkin Orange and slightly mist the right shoulder, just enough to change the color a bit. Then do the black misting for weather and finally a few coats of clear flat.
If you were brave and came into a spare 20-30 bucks, you could buy some sintra / foam pvc and make armor that really contours to your body and fits better (which is part of your collar issue). Its easy to work and cheap.
Overall though, great job!
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
That is maybe the best lookin budget Fett I´ve ever seen !
For $27...great work !
Keep on going with the given hints !
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
thanks for the tips and feed back. do any of you guys out there that have experience in boba costumes have any tips to make my next one better?:fettchest:fettrotj
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
nice brother! $27 and you are at that point?! Awesome start!!!! The beautiful thing about Fett is there is always room for improvement. Perfecting the imperfections. :) Great start on an equally amazing price.
Now when you say your next one... are you redoing the whole costume or are you going to alter this one? :) Excited to see future progress from you!

Why would he want pants that matched his top?Boba's vest and jumpsuit are 2 different colors, vest is khaki, and his jumpsuit is gray, he has it good, throw some dirt on it and it's good to go. Once he moves the plates up, I'd cut the vest off about 1/2 inch below the ab plate and cut the sleeves at the midway of the shoulder plates and it'll look more vest-ish and no so much shirt-ish.
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
mando soldier- i no i need to raise the plates and cut below the ab plate. but the coveralls are short sleeved so thats why i left the sleeves in the vest.
tehel1te- um im going to do some minor stuff to this one. belt, raise plates, etc. but pretty soon im going to start on a fettish style custom mando. so i wont have to follow a pattern.
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
hey do you no were i can get a yard of brown vinyl like batninja had?
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
You should try to pick up a thin pleather. You can also find thin upholstery leather, both at a Joann Fabrics or similar store. I would try to find a thicker leather of matching color for the belt, But you can always sew webbing like a webbed belt in between two pieces of pleather to make the belt thick.
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
i think that im going to use the vinyl stuff. any suggestionswere it mite be??
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
well finally got my avatar pic to work. over the next month or so i have the following planned: make belt using batninjas thread, raise the armor plates. mist some more paint on the cape and lower legs and spats, make ee3 blaster, make my rocket better (more than one pipe). i think those minor things will make the whole armor stand out better. ill keep yall updated on progress.:fettchest:fettesb
Re: new users first mando.boba costume. please look and give opinion
Pretty darn good for $27! Great job!
Re: new users first mando. udates and progress
ok just a small update (no pics tho, sorry)
i have the wooden blocks cut for the ammo belt (im using batninjas tutorial)
and im going to get the vinyl material one day next week.
for the gauntlet missile, i am redoing it completly. ive got different size pvc cut and fitted together. (it will look alot better)
i heated the shoulder bells and curved them like they should be.
i weathered the ankle spats.
thats all for now. im debating on making a whole new helmet. the other one was my first one ever so there were some learn as you go moments. i sort of have an idea of what to do and not to do.
also im probably going to make a longer collar piece and connect the back plate with the collar plate. any idea of wat i can use as the square bolts?
please yall, let me no what you think, and any critiques or ideas.
thanks thats all for now..........
Re: Budget Boba. udates and progress

Re: Budget Boba. udates and progress NEW PICS
pretty sweet, how much would ya charge me to get ya to make me a ammo belt? I need a cheap one to use while I get busy losing some weight and I don't have my garage yet and have no way to make my own.
Re: Budget Boba. udates and progress NEW PICS
