Man Im away from home training (Air Force stuff) so Im in a hotel room for the last 8 months two more left then I go home gonna have quite a bit of painting to do all the hard parts when i get home.

Lookin like ya hit the ground runnin, bruv! Keep that momentum goin. Now go get yourself some coffee and get that weathering started.

That bucket looks really good. I'm surprised you want to repaint it. But I guess if you are going ROTJ, you have to, otherwise you have to do the SE Fett. Looking good. Anyway we can get a close up of those braids?

Im going for the SE ROTJ so itll stay ESB it just needs some tweaking the back is where it needs it the top needs the scrape added...So Im gonna add that and redo the back two lower panels

Woodman, Dsonik and Loanstars help has it nearly completely weathered now...Added some coffee to the dirt front and back are about done

How did you do the tea weathering?

Soaked some Teabags in some water but COFFEE is where its at as far as getting it nice and dirty looking, Woodman recommended it and so did Dsonik...I want to add some black dirt to it now that I got the brown sand on it but all the dirt here is desert sand literally so I may get some charcoal to use as we used it in survival school and it works very well at dirtying things up

So you just soak the bags and then kinda pad it over the suit?

With the coffee and tea both I got some warm water soaked it in there squeezed it out then rubbed the **** out of it into the suit....Dirt works really good to with a little water as well. Rubbing it in with a damp towel. Heres where Im at with the weathering put the vest and neck seal on to give an idea of how much dirt was added. Not sure if i want to add weathering to the vest and seal or not opinions? In pics and screen shots it looks to be clean but some it looks weathered lol

I would highly recommend adding weathering to the vest and neckseal, or else it's going to keep that really clean sheen to it. If you look at the reference photos, you'll be able to see where there's a lot of subtle weathering on both articles. I'd say go for it.

The weathering on the jumpsuit looks amazing. Definatly looks like the same weathering i have seen on other SE suits, which i think looks correct.
As far as weathering on the vest and neckseal, just lightly mist it with some gray and black paint. No more, no less.

lol i dont think so...Im gonna add some more genuine Desert to the vest and seal to take away the sheen...I just added the final soot if you will to the Flight Suit...Used some of my favorite black boot polish Lincoln Wax
This Picture seems to give a more true color than the last one lighting in here sucks! And my DSLR is at home coolpix isnt the greatest. Might do the Vest later or tomorrow

I did the same thing to my vest, just some hits of black and some dirty brown....took the sheen right out of it.

Sweet Im gonna work on adding the top scratch to the Helmet tomorrow if I can find the gray for it....I got it stenciled onto the helmet just need paint to it now.

Well I took the stencils from the Helmet section and some pics and went to work on "fixing" some of the things I wanted to be more correct on my ESB helmet. The Dent was very "clean" solid silver no flecks of dark grey in there, there was no dome scratch at all on the helmet...the Kill stripe area needed some dark grey added nothing major just things that I noticed and wanted to take care of...and the lower cheek areas were close but not quite there. All in all Im happy with the way it went, they didnt have a dark grey at michaels so I got flat grey and flat black and used my 20k a year tuition I paid at University of the Arts and mixed up the same grey that was on the helmet from the previous owner or whoever painted it. Took liquid mask and masked out the outer area of the scratch. Then I went back in with silver and painted in the chrome area, free handed. Never liked painting when I had an assignment Im a pencil guy myself but I enjoyed working on this today. Added the flecks of dark gray into the dent and around the scrapes and some more by the kill stripes...also added a little silver where it was missing on the cheeks...Some of the paint wasnt all the way dry in the pics where it looks darker

nice work man, i think were going backwards from one amother, i have all my hard parts and im waiting for the soft ones to come in, i just finished painting my esb mow gauntlets and im waiting for my tk409 vest and my bobamaker flight suit, ill probably use the same weathering techniques that you are using.

Yeh we ran into that with woodman before! Ordered this last night...think it should make a REALLY good jetpack harness...and I can use it for work too! Thats always a good thing

My wife of all people came up with a very unique jetpack harness....I'll have to share. I like your idea as well, was heading down that road....

So got my MSH1 a few weeks ago already painted up...most of it was pretty good but the back of the helmets lower area was completely wrong and kinda bothered me...the rest of the bucket was decent. I've been adding things here and there, having fun with it. All by hand no air brush YET...I think I'll be getting one for the Armor and the FP budget helmet....SOOOO heres what it looked like

Then I went to work with my brushes and mixing skills I learned in school, think it turned out pretty good

Made a little progress today got to work on assembly of the MOW gauntlets...Left top is about done and ready for primer...need to add the hinge but thats not a big deal really

Oh i made a little mess too ...need to round the front of that piece there looking at it for my arm to fit and all...more to come tomorrow!

Got the Gauntlets together...need to add the magnets I ordered as well as the darts from Evo... MOW does a great job not to much trouble to put together. Debating on toggles for the right gauntlet as well opinions? I'll be painting em when I get home from this base who knows when thatll be

I so wish I had enough money for that. I'm crossing my fingers that Wickedbeard will help with the gauntlets as well.

Got my Evo Boots not as bad as I thought after a bit of gray acrylic wash and some coffee...also got Evo boot Spikes, Gauntlet Darts, and knee darts. After finding out that Galactic Bounty Hunter makes PrePro gloves, Ill be having a modified SE Fett like the Boba in alot of the comics Ill be rocking the brown gloves...and Ill also be getting a spare set of gauntlets to make a prepro like set but on the left gauntlet it will be a harpoon instead of the missile...and no flame thrower on the left gaunt either.

Really looking great, Brother! Super job weathering that flight suit too. This is going to be one fantastic Fett when you are through! Oh, and stick with 8 pouches

Agree with Terry whole heartedly. The comic Fett that you sent me as your concept will be truly unique. As with Jodo Kast from GBH, you are charting new and interesting waters. Cant wait to see it finished. I for one, would love to see this version get 501st approval.

Some additions and the MOW gaunts pretty done need switches on the right but thats nothing major...Serenity studs Evo darts GBH gloves need weathering thatll happen today sometime...the Evo boots weathered and spikes...I modded the Gaunts a little myself to give a more accurate look to the keypad area and added the tip to the missile from some resin plug material from the gaunts...installing the darts is NOT easy BTW gonna need to tweak after painting them to get em to sit just right. And the tools are just sintra from one of the members here...can barely see em so not really to concerned with them for now

I think the guys in Tokyo will like it!! :P Just finishing up my Tusken, so I'm digging the weathering you've done. I too prefer tea to coffee, but coffee is great for darker spots (Although now my costume smells like coffee and fabreeze).

I got the Armor, Gaunts, Jetpack all painted up this weekend...the MOW boots died and weathered, and pretty much just need some hoses elastic and something to attach the armor to the vest which still needs some more weathering...

He's been texting me pics as he goes along... You guys are gunna be impressed, the noob's got some skills with toothpaste and a spray can. lol

As soon as my Girth gets here from Sonik....Its done! I finished painting the ROTJ FP budget helmet last night and got the visor mounted in it just now after JB welding the chicago screws in there overnight...picked my flightsuit up from the seamstress the pockets were to high by two inches...weathered it last night some more...since sonik said it was too clean Brown boots from krylon and flat black...looks pretty good...but Im debating whether to wear my comic-ish setup ESB helmet and Prepro gloves basically SE+ prepro gloves or Full ROTJ now...cause Im about done with the helmetjust need to weather the right earcap...Ill get some pics up here soon maybe the day before C5 when Im at the hotel with internets and my laptop lol

Dom's been kickin butt, and getting all this done in a small timeframe (he's hopin if he gets it done by CV, that Art will make out with him at the fan table.... Airforce guys, who knew?) lol
