WIP: bcurtis's ESB Fett build (Lord help me) Pic Heavy!

That will be very nice man! Do you have the LEDs figured out for it yet? Very jealous brother!

Thanks Sean! I already have a tri-rebel rgb LED and a 18650 2600 mAh 7.4v Li-Ion stick pack that I was gonna use for a lightsaber project. I'm gonna wire up the red die for the main blaster and the blue die for the stun mode. I am going to set mine up similar to RedArc's EE-3. I need to source a decent 36mm speaker and figure out a heat sink solution for the tri-rebel. Shouldn't be an issue though. It's gonna be sweet!

I assume the longer dimension is top to bottom? So frustrating, I feel like my Fett is near finished and notice the pockets look small and too rectangular. It never ends.

You're correct on both counts. The longer dimension is top to bottom AND it never ends. :D

Just received my snowmobile helmet from ebay that I promptly gutted for the chinstrap setup, lol. Super-cheap. It's not 100% accurate but I think it more than does the job. If you're looking for a cheap chinstrap setup, check out old/vintage snowmobile, ski doo, or motorcycle helmets. I paid $7 for one plus $8 shipping to get this one.

Just updating with some pics of the cape I'm currently putting together. It's made from linen that I dyed with RIT tan for about 10 or 15 minutes. The stripe is not sewn since I still can't see any real evidence of it in the gallery. Instead I tried some Krylon spray semi-transparent wood stain in "redwood." I just misted it for a bit until I was satisfied with the look. It stinks like you wouldn't believe and takes FOREVER to dry but I'm really happy with the outcome. I have attached a couple of images of the cape as it's currently hanging up to dry. I'll weather it really nice in a couple of days and post some final pics.

Here's the cape after some weathering. I used a rotary cutting tool for most of the damage. I pounded it with a hammer over top of some rocks as well to get some small holes and distress marks on the linen. Just misted with some flat black spray paint. Finally I wet the cape a little and used a wire brush to blend the weathering and to distress the fabric a little more. It's not perfect but it came out looking good I think.

So I came home to a wonderful sight yesterday.

The AE gear is truly a thing of beauty as well as the FPH2. The photos truly don't do it justice. I wasn't prepared. I did nothing but stare at it all night long, lol. I'll take more detailed photos of everything tomorrow when I have better light.

I'll be dropping it all off for paint this weekend. I'll be honest, it's kind of daunting to see how many pieces there really are for this costume. Still a lot of work to do. I'll keep you all posted of course. ;)

Again...proper pics tomorrow.
