Who makes good trooping gloves?
Hello TDH! I've been searching the forums but I haven't found any that speaks in depth about the durability of gloves (as far as specifics on how they hold up). I was just wondering which gloves are best for trooping; I was looking at bobamakers' site and his gloves look really good but I don't know how durable they are...
Thanks guys!
Re: Who makes good trooping gloves?
I've never trooped in mine (only put them on once) but they are made of fine fabrics and fine stitching. I'm sure other members have done but they don't look very herd wearing to me. I think read that the originals were probably based on some kind of dress gloves and they wouldn't be very hard wearing.
Re: Who makes good trooping gloves?
Ah gotcha. I don't intend on like doin much other than basic trooping (walking around convention centers and taking photos) so maybe it's not that big of a deal?

forget trooping gloves, it's a mission alone just to find some ROTJ gloves right now:cry
Re: Who makes good trooping gloves?
hmm... maybe if I get like a light grey jean like material? Or even if someone made appropriate details (white pads and fingers) on a more durable type of glove? I might have to dig further...

there'll be more coming along soon, don't you worry!
Re: Who makes good trooping gloves?
For comfortable gloves you will want them to be in a stretch material. I would buy some white cotton parade gloves and dye them, then take your vest to a fabric store and match the tackle twill the best you can. Then make the pads with fabric and batting and handsew them on. They won't be totally accurate with the button or tackle wrist fabric if that's your priority though.
