White Commando Site - Need INFO!

Hi everyone.
Well, I just got my fiberglass helmet from Ebay. In looking at the McQuarrie pictures, I noticedthat there isn't supposed to be any slots in the back like the Fett helmet has.
I'd like to try to make this helmet as close to the MQ design as I can. Would you suggest bondo? Liquid steel? I was even thinking of taking a thin sheet of styrene and curving it around the back of the helmet. Ideas?
I also see that the MQ helm doesn't have ear caps. Hmmm...

OK Guys, whoever is going White...send some pics! GEO, SLAVEFIVE, CENOBYTE... Sad to say, we lost ShireFolk...his stuff is for sale.

- There will be a tribute page to Ralph McQuarrie

- Also Joe Johnston - He is from my town! Fort Worth Texas! I live in a suburb...Grapevine...17 miles outside of Fort Worth.

*EDIT* I removed the photos to conserve space. They were pretty large. BigaboyFett offered to repost them as a smaller rendering. Thanks John.

The pictures are of another McQuarrie white Mando and several Joe Johnston drawings. I also included something I put together that showed what I felt the back of the MQ helmet looked like in greater detail. Now to figure out how best to modify a helmet to look like this. Bondo to fill in the key slots and carve it in? A sheet of styrene formed over the back of the helmet? Ideas?

Hey Corbin,

About your images...If you can, edit your post and delete/replace all the images in your last post to this string. I have detached them, but I can't edit your post. I will run them through Photoshop and save for web at high/60...that will get the file size down to less than a quarter than they are now and they will display faster. I can send you links to the images in my server space at http://www.whitecommando.com - plus I think the issues we are having with TDH hosting, as of late, may cause slower image loads.

Now for some notes about the pics...anyone out there willing to work on a custom back half of a soon to be produced helmet, and rangefinder/rangefinder ear-piece to a custom McQuarrie/Johnston helmet? Anyone???? (Judz?)

How about armor, namely chest and abdomen pieces, as seen in the McQuarrie White painting 3-view. I agree, the "rocketeer" type jet pack like GEO's and the McQuarrie cloud city painting could be done cool if the scale was right...but too big...Scuba Fett, or worse...too giant, like Johnston's Mountain Climber Ruck-Sack Jet pack. (Ironically, Johnston was the Director for the Rocketeer.)

Also, notice on the single image of "Boba-Fet" dated June, 1978 that was done by Johnston??? The knees are upside down...just like the images we have seen where Bulloch is in the suit in the Freezing chamber in ESB and his knees are upside down?? Heh???

My goals are as follows... I must say that I like the armor design of the white fett 3-view painting by McQuarrie, plus the Deco-Rocketeer pack like GEO's and a cape like the Fett with Vader image in the Bespin dining room, but not so Poncho-ish. I believe two left gauntlet tops with paired missile housings and tapered undersides may be a good solution for gauntlets. Go to http://www.whitecommando.com and click the star and see the gauntlets a friend of mine is now making...first pics ever released...exclusively on my site.

I am considering a second helmet beside the beige-striped DP95 helmet ala GEO I have posted on my web site. If we can find a Fiberglass caster that can modify a mould for the helmet back per Corbin Das' schematic, or figure a way to trim out the back of a DP95 and replace with Sintra panels and inserts (WHAT A PAIN!), it would be nice to have helmets of similar structure...especially if those wanting to do a white commando-fett, wish to have some uniformity. In this case, I believe custom Fetts of similar design appearing en Masse...will gain more recognition than sort-of, kinda similar, but not quite the same white Fetts.

Thoughts? Corbin? GEO? CENO? KINDREDJEDI? SLAVEFIVE? JUDZ? <--Umm, anyone wanting White Fett Stuff, send this guy some Chat! Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Get back to me?

Shirefolk be a young lad, who hath finded the way of the Fett to be a touch jubbly in the pocket-pouch, and if ye looks in the cargo hold, there may be a Fett part or two for you...but it has been a spell, since he wished to let his stuff go.

What are you wishing to buy? Go to http://www.whitecommando.com/main.htm to see my suit. Go to http://www.whitecommando.com/jangopage.htm to see what a friend makes for my friends.

Goodnight, we shall speak soon.

No, it was in the cargo hold. He had some nice armor, a vest and a Marrow Sun Helmet. I think all is sold except the chest armor.

I make Sintra armor. Most people on TDH think that Sintra armor sucks, but it is inexpensive and easy to work with. Since mine is a white trooper, it is not scrutinized quite so much (at least I hope not)

Visit http://www.whitecommando.com/main.htm

Later!

Where were those when I needed them last month? I already order a set from some one else.

Hey guys, anyone know the specific time in ESB pre-production, that Lucas and McQuarrie and Johnston decided to switch Fett from a commando to a gangster henchman? Any details? I want to post any debate or details about the character's evolving history (pre-history) as a Mandolorean troop, a member from a group of Clone Wars Special Forces Troops/Veterans, Fett as a member of a squad of "Special or Improved" Stormtroopers, and finally, being a gangster's minion as seen in ESB.

Brak's Buddy, I think you know some stuff. Send me all you can. Everyone that knows, you are welcome to post!

Hi John
While this doesn't answer everything, the book "Dawn of the Bounty Hunters" offers a brief mention:

"At Lucasfilm, Boba Fett was designed by Joe Johnston and Ralph McQuarrie. At an early production stage of The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett's costume had been intended for a squad of supercommandos from the Mandalore system. The troops' white-armored suits were to have been equipped with numerous built-in weapons, including wrist lasers, flying backpacks, and rocket darts. In an interview for Star Wars:The Annotated Screenplays, Joe Johnston recalled, " I designed the final version of Boba Fett. Ralph and I both worked on preliminary designs, and we traded ideas back and forth. Originally, Boba Fett was part of a force we called Super Troopers, and they were these really high-tech fighting units, and they all looked alike. That eventually evolved into a single bounty hunter."

While this isn't much, it's a start. I'll see if I can find any more.
