What's the Best Material For Boba Vests?

I'm looking for a heavyweight material that I can send to someone so they can sew my vest from. Can anyone suggest a material that they have used which works well with heavier fiberglass armor? I don't want sagging armor and the like. If I could afford to have it made from leather, I would. What about a grey faux leather that doesn't look like el cheapo pleather-I wonder if something like that exists? I'm looking for recommendations for whatever materials you have used to tailor your vests which has worked very well for you. I need it in a grey/dark grey color-I'm using Krylon Dark Smoke Gray paint, so it'd need to be fairly close to that, although I'm using white and a lighter grey accents as well.I'd appreciate any help you could give me-thank you for your time.

Actually I'm doing a custom, and wanted to go with a Jango vest (I like it's style a bit better for whatever reason) over the Boba, but it seems that there's not a whole lot of folks who can make them that I've found-hence my asking about the Boba vest. It'll work for a while until I can get a more elaborate Jango vest made-possibly of leather. And since Batninja is the sew-meister, it only felt appropriate to have you make it. Sorry if I'm confusing, we customs can do that to folks by mixing Jango and Boba parts until we can start creating new Mando armor etc...So are we on the right page now?:D I'm just looking for a heavyweight cotton or cotton blend in a darker grey color to match my armor and jumpsuit. I'm using Krylon Dark Smoke Grey spray paint, that may give you an idea about the color scheme...

So you're doing a custom...got it.

You'd rather have a Jango-style vest over a Boba-style vest...got it.

But you'd take a Boba-style vest if you could at least get it done in a respectable material...got it.

No problem sewing the fabric, as long as it isn't pleather or vinyl...I'm not sure my machine would work well with those materials for a vest. I'd look for a duck cloth, canvas, cotton twill, or any standard bottom-weight fabric. Ask the folks at the fabric store, they'll point you in the right direction.

Sorry, I can tend to be difficult when I'm not really sure what I need to look for. But, I did find a heavier weight cotton fabric that's a lighter grey, but will still work with my overall design. How much fabric will you need roughly? Perhaps if any is left over, I can find someone to sew a neck seal out of it so it'll match. Thanks.
