what is sintra ??

Hey guys...I'm looking to make some new armour plates and everyone seems to like sintra, but I'm guessing its an american thing because i get blank looks when asking for it around here in the uk . Is there a British equivelant ? is it just PVC board ?...if so, how thick is ideal ?

In the UK you could try a search with: hard foamboards. Hope this helps?!

Normally I use these kind of PVC-hardfoamboard in 3mm thickness:

I think the one you found is "just" foamboard, which won´t be that resistent like the hard foamboard.

Sintra is expanded PVC. So its like a foamboard that is completely PVC, like Notlewis said, a hard foamboard. He is correct as well that what you found there is standard foamboard and isnt ideal for making an item you want to use and have some strength behind it.
