What is this??...Next to the Stablizer

Since the "Adjustment Knob" aka Stablizer has been found, http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/jet-pack-adjustment-knob-25695/ props guys for sharing....

I know this is nothing new, but I was wondering what the button, or additional knob, NEXT to the Stablizer is??...what's it's function? and why is it now missing on all the current packs??

What do I mean you ask??

THIS: ....as seen first on the Supertrooper...

Then seen on the PrePro#1 (Starwars Chronicles book picture)

Then on the Prepro#2 and PrePro#3 (which is the same pack as the Prepro#1

Also on the ESB jet pack... (thanks to Official Pix for this shot)

    Thanks to Braks...
but does not show up on the ROTJ or AOSW packs , or is "missing"????

Well there WAS something there(in the last photo) because it appears that the base of the "button" is still bonded/glued to the pack.
What it is I have no clue but I guess (if I can type this to make sense)it was a piece that was mistakenly left off during assembly of any extra packs. The base was bonded down but the rest of it never made it on.
But I am sure I am wrong ...I have not stayed at a Holiday Inn lately

Good eye there, Alex! Who knows what that was. Some small cylinder with a lip. Maybe a piece of a pneumatic tool? I love it when something new is discovered! Thanks for sharing.

Nice find! It's the button you push on all 12" Boba figures to launch the rocket.

I think it's like a push button of some sort... seems functional
and I don't think I'm the one that discovered it, I just don't think it's been discussed before..
and no Fan-made Jet Pack has that detail on it...thought it could be added before I get ready to purchase mine .. (cough cough MOW and BM!)

that is awesome!!!..I would say though it's more squared off...and maybe has edges, I will see what pics I have that show it better...so far the prepro 1 shot is the best..

    OK, I'll stop smarting off.

Do you think it was the button to turn the beacon light on and off?

The ROTJ helmet knob looks too small to be the same item on the jet pack...just my 2 cents.

In my 3D draw, it has a 5mm diameter. And +/- the knobs are 5mm.

    IMO

Since we just found a knee dart and the stabiliser, perhaps this comes from the piece that those did?

    I agree..

Maybe it's me, but I'm not seeing it either Guys???

Not to mention there are no "ribs" on the knobs shown on the previous pack pics like on the ROTJ helmet knobs...
and I always thought the knobs on the ROTJ helmet were the same as the Prepro#1 right red Gauntlet/(ESB) knobs....??

Is there a better pic of the Pack maybe??

I know this thread is starting to get a little old, but I just wanted to say that those greeblies on the back of the Jedi helmet look like those wire connectors you twist on. Kinda small maybe, but that's what they look like to me.

The "button" on the pack looks like one of those connector posts you would bind into place with a cotter pin. Dunno what you call the post, but that's what it looks like. I think I even have one or two laying around... I'll go look.

This is a long shot, but is it piece #32 of the Revell V-8 model? You can see it on the parts of star wars website.

Looks like a trigger housing pin for an M-60 MG. Any military/former military know which one I'm talking about, left side of the pistol grip, pop the leaf spring, push out from left to right and the whole pistol grip/trigger housing comes off.

My memory's slipping, the leaf spring is on the right side and the pin is pushed out from right to left. Old age.

Since the "Supertrooper" white suit clearly in pics had smoke coming out of the cones/exhaust, it could be plausible enough to think that the quick connect theory is a place to charge whatever holding tank was used????

    Just thinking out loud......
