What did I just do?

So after researching the past forum posts and topics. I have decided on the ESB version!! I'm a bit intimidated to see the timeline that some people take to build their suits. But, I seriously do not have the skill set or the patience to do it myself. A few things possibly, but mostly looks like I will be seeking help. I have come up with a solid list of members to commission for my Boba Fett ESB build based on your suggestions and recommendations, so thank you for that. Of course, I will have my eye out in the Cargo Hold for any good deals. I previously sold off alot of unused photography equipment to get me started, but man I blew through a big portion with my first commission requests and buys and I thought to myself Man what did I just get myself into. As typical with me, I always like the most expensive and difficult things to do, which the Boba Fett build is, so I shouldnt be surprised. But in the end, it will be worth it. So I will try to post items as they come and track my build as it comes along. But does anyone have an "Offical" checklist of all the items needed for the Boba Fett ESB to be accurate or 501st approved? Or is this the list to go off of:

Anyways, I am excited to get my first product in and get going. Thank You TDH Community.

I'm not a 501st member, but that list seems to be pretty comprehensive. There are a lot of 501st folks
on TDH, so I'm sure they'll be able to give you some guidance.

Make sure you take your time and get some good gear the first time around, instead of having to do
upgrades at some point! LOL

Thanks superjedi. Thats my hope to get things done right the first time around. Minor repairs or corrections can be acceptable. But I really like the idea of doing charity work such as Make a Wish with the 501st.

That is your official punch list to work off of. The black items are the basic requirements for 501st approval. The blue is Level 2 (Notorious), and the red is Level 3 (Infamous).

ESB is by far the better build. Just a fact and absolutely no opinion here!
it can be done in a year or less with the right amount of money and time.
Mine is not one of those though, lol. But what would I do if I weren't working on Fett? Start another one?
Take your time and do it right. Quality parts will pay off for you.

Thats what you need to go off of for 501st clearance. Most of the armor pics are my parts and the main reference pic is me :) I got pretty much all of my stuff through here so your in the right place. I was also a GML for 3 yrs for my garrison, so i can assist along the way if there is anything you are unsure about. You can also contact you local GML, but his/her knowledge may be limited on Fett.

Darth Voorhess thats awesome the reference pics are yours. I guess Im definately in the right company and place. I went to the Star Wars Celebration and just amazed by the work put into not only Boba Fett, all the other characters and the joy people got out of seeing them that I was sold and had to do it finally.

Syllander and Darth Voorhees. Thanks alot, I have seen both yours names and feedback on alot of posts that I have found useful and I appriciate your guys attitudes and words of encouragement to news guys in general. Its pretty awesome. Im trying to research as much as I can before a buy and especially if I have questions to make sure it hasnt been answered before. Darth, I do have a paint question regarding the ESB Gaunlet, I recently order a painted pair of MOW. Is there a paint template that shoes what and how it should be painted to ensure it is accurate? I have seen a paint palet diagram for the helmet and armour, but not the Gaunlets. Or perhaps a link will work to a similiar thread that I missed. Thank You.

Since the gauntlets are from me I want to get you the correct info on paint colors so it will match my paint job I clicked around on here for a while and couldn't find or remember the thread I used to find paint colors. I just pulled all my old airbrush paint out of the closet and from what I can remember I used RLM62 as the main green. The red and blue that I have are Italian Red and Insignia Blue. As for the silver it's probably aluminum or steel. For the grey on the left gaunt I think it's Reefer Grey or maybe Eurogrey?? but not 100% on that. The rust color is Rust and the black is Flat Black and the white is Flat White. Hope this helps and good luck!

Star Wars Celebration will do that haha. I was there as well. Been to the last 3 held in the US. Your definitely in the right place when Fett is the goal!

Since you are going for 501st clearance, id also suggest signing up on the offical 501st detachment for all things bounty hunters at the 501st bounty hunters guild: (thebhg.net) You will find more legion specific info there.

So onto your question, there is actually no templates for the ESB gauntlet damage. Actually, the damage is fairly minimal on the ESB gauntlets, so id think alot of folks just look at reference pictures, which we have a ton of in our gallery here.

However, the one large section of damage on the inner left gauntlet has a fairly specific shape, and i had made a template for that i can send you. I have cut it out on my vinyl cutter in the past and used it as a mask using the layered method, placing the damage shape on the gauntlet after it was painted silver, and before the green was applied. But, ive also done it the opposite way, and cut the vinyl in reverse and used it as a stencil as well, applying the outline of the damage after the green was applied and spraying the shape topically over the green in silver. You can also trace it onto your gauntlet with transfer paper and hand mask it with masking fluid.

Other than that specific area, the damage is minimal and not hard to replicate using reference from the pics in the gallery.

Colors will vary a touch from person to person, but as it seems you got Girlattorney's old set, he has pointed you in the right direction to match the colors he used.
