Wes' ESB Fett Build

The 3rd shin tool is a fake tool! It is only present in the SW Visual Dictionary and on the Don Post's Boba Fett statue (?). A great replica would be a steel or aluminum tube with these measurements:

Note that the length may vary from suit to suit and for the ESB you should use the lower end measurements.

Thank you for chiming in, Raf. :) I read your threads on the different possibilities like an old microphone, telescope, etc. Since I am aiming for 501st approval, though, I believe I must replicate the fake tool.

But if this is something that I could actually help push for changing, then you better expect I will :) ill pick up a tube today :)

The screen-used reference is confusing, since they must have just jammed in tools here and there, switching positions as they filmed. For ESB in some pics he has 3 shin tools, and it other shots he has 4. ROTJ he has 2 or 3 shin tools, depending on the pic.

I think I love that about Fett. What if he had been using them between scenes? He wouldn't have made sure to put them in the same pocket facing the same way. Haha I just think its cool to think about :)

In the ESB the shin tools are pretty constant with the positions: the shin tools (4 of them) are in the same position, except the sonic beam weapon is inverted in the first hallway scene and the anti-security blade is reversed in the other hallway scene (shooting at Luke), while starting with the carbon chamber scene the 4th shin tool si no more and the survival knife take its place.

ESB with 4 shin tools:

Note that there are no images with the shin tool positions in the Slave I cockpit and the torture chamber door to the elevator scene, so we can assume that it has the 4 shin tool setup.

Thank you for such a detailed post Raf. I'll paint the details on the other side of the squeegee.

Thanks Kcr!! I'm hoping to be done in a couple months tops :)

Here's what his armor looks like and what mine will look like when he paints it:

This is not an ESB paint job on these plates. Most notable is the Right plate (as wearing it) should not have any yellow and is fairly clean in comparison to the other plates in the movie.

Here's a glamour shot of my bucket:

Intended on having a full on photoshoot of all the parts that I have since I just got back from vacation but there were complications and a couple parts were upside down lol... It happens. I got my 99centTaco belt in the mail along with a new and improved neck seal from Arkady and an amazing Fettronics display! :) I'll post an update with photos tomorrow.

Big update. I've ordered every part I need. Now all I'm doing is waiting for them in the mail. I'm waiting on my EE3, sidearm, armor and cape/braids. Here are some photos of where I'm at now:

Thank you guys!! Just got word that RKD shipped my armor (switched to his from BM because I got my hands on BM and it would've been too small. I'm 6'3" and 190lbs. Also ordered a SW EE3, a 3D printed sidearm, decals from lucky and a harness from Kcr7pr!
