HOLY CRAP JOHN! YOU CRAPPED OUT A PINEAPPLE so you could do this project! THAT IS DEDICATION!

Dude the weathering and paint on the barrell is PERFECTION! I was thinking it was gonna come chromed and I'd have to add the charred marks! YOU ROCK!

Holy crap. I went to bed and woke up to all these compliments. Thank you guys. I was worried about the flashtube. I'm glad you guys like it. Mr. Brak's Buddy is sending me a V8 part to mold so this sucker should be done by the end of the week.

I think the thing that has made this project so exceptional up to this point is the fact that you are willing to take peoples suggestions and make this into as close to a screen acurate piece as possible.
Some times people just take on a project and try to do it without and help or suggestions and the final product ends up becoming more of an artists rendition instead of a true replica. I think by the time this is finished and ready for shipment to the prospective interested parties, it will be one of the most sought after blasters out there.
Not to mention with the release of the ROTJ Blaster soon to follow on its heels, this is going to be quite the show stopper.

Here is a look again at the current progress of the EE-3. This is of course without the greeblies. The ROTJ version will soon follow.

Wow. That is a beautiful thing. I also agree with Eddie. Without the support from the other very knowledgeable people it would be just another gun. When I get one I will be proud to tell people who made it. I will also need to buy a case to put this in. I will be very proud to own one. Outstanding work John.

Looks amazing! Personally if I were to have a rubber barrel, I would make it more 'chrome' like the original, but the weathered look is nice! Now let's see how those greeblies look on stock ;)

I agree. definitly will need a case for these puppy's. great work John. and thank's for letting all of us be a part of this wonderfull peice of work.

I can attach metal tubes if you guys have them. It just takes a little more work. I can send you guys pictures of one with the metal tube on it. I have to cut the tubes to mount them obviously. I fill one end with elastomer so it will attach cleanly.

Some shots in the movie it really looks heavily weathered as in the Rubber one. I am seriously thinking the Rubber one is going to be perfect.
I think the rubber barrel is going to be more condusive to abuse then the metal one because of the difficulty in attachment.
Either way though.....Fantastic piece of work!

Don't get me wrong. The metal one is nice but. These rubber guns are made to attach rubber to rubber. It was always intended to have a rubber flash tube. You can paint the flash tube a brighter metallic than I have. I just picked this because it was quick and so I could show it to you guys.

Im gunna have to go with eddie on this one. the rubber flash is alot better and I like it alot better without the words HEILAND streched across it like a billboard. so it's rubber for me thanks

Personally, I like the rubber flash for a few reasons:
1. It makes MY life easier
b. It's a little beefier with the thickness than just an empty thin wall tube.
d. It will hold up to a lot more punishment than a metal flashtube. No worries about someone else handling your gun or anything.

1,b,d? Whatever.

Rubber all the way baby! Nobody but me will be touching this bad boy so I won't really have to worry about that. I also think the rubber will be the better of the two. I like the idea of a thicker wall, and well because it's rubber. For a quick throw together for show and tell, it looks great.
