    Hey guys,

So I'm about to go down the path of weathering my INCREDIBLE Arkady flight suit. I've seen some threads talking about the rattle can (krylon charcol spray) method and decided to do that. Now, what's the best technique when applying the paint to give it a natural, muddy look? I don't want it to look like it's spray paint but I don't have that much painting experience. I know there isn't just one way to do it but I'd like to have some tips when trying to give it that worn look that we all love about Fett.

It's an ESB, by the way, so the lower legs will be hit with A LOT of paint. Is there a good technique to smearing the paint to make it look unintentional?

    Thank you

I have used rattle can spray paint for weathering before. It is really not that tough. Get a few different colors and mist it on. The key is to put it on slowly and with no pattern. Darker and heavier toward the bottom just like it would be in real life. Also look at the pockets and pouches in the way people grab them and would transfer dirt from the hand to the pouch.

I hung the FS up outside in the wind, and misted the paint. Make sure that the nozzle is far enough away from the fabric. If you start off to far away you can move closer.

Experiment on a scrap of cloth if you are uncomfortable.

I hung my FS up on a hanger and just went at it with black spray paint, some brown and some grey. At first it doesn't really look like anything, but as you keep spraying you'll see the "stains" and weathering come to life.
