you don't happen to have any wip pics do you? i'm looking at my boots thinking about how i'm going to weather them and i'd like to see the steps others have taken to get there.
I don't have any WIP pix but I assure you, it's pretty easy to do.
It only took me 5-10 minutes to do it.
First I masked off the white part of the sole around the bottom of the shoe,
then I held the shoes at a distance and sprayed it with brown and black.
Make sure you don't get too close, you only want to make them look dirty, you don't want to change the actual color of the shoe.
Then I went back and masked off the big part of the shoe leaving the white sole exposed, and I hit that part lightly with some grey primer. Just enough to make sure it's not so white anymore.
After that I think it's really up to your personal preference. Everyone's shoes look a little different. Some people have scratches and scuffs on the instep of their shoe, and some people have scratches on the outward part.
Maybe you wanna go kicking through the dirt with them too for half a day.:lol
Certainly looks good! took a lot less time than mine did, too. I think I would dirty up the soles some, but you'll probably do that naturally.

I would do just a little more weathering bro. like jawafive said, the soles are too clean.
I'm sure the soles will get dirtier when I wear them. I tend to shuffle and rub my feet together when I walk.
I like them :)
I think they look ok and yep the soles will get dirty by themselves :lol
Looking good, just need to hit the black stripe down the middle and the ankles a bit more with gray primer to wash 'em out. :thumbsup
has anyone ever posted a how to guide with pics on weathering the soft parts it would be real popular im sure
There's a boot weathering thread located here:
