Hi all! Just wanted to share my attempt at painting and weathering my new MOW boots. This is the first time I've ever attempted to paint or weather anything, so I'm pretty excited that they came out decent. SpideyFett's weathering tutorial was a big help. I tried to get them darker and grimier and I got a little liberal with the burnt umber, but in the end I decided that I had to do what made me happy. Here are a couple of photos of them. I still need to get some ESB variant toe spikes. Hopefully Dakota will have some soon or MojoFett will do another run. Thanks Christian for making such an awesome product! Comments and feedback welcome guys! I always want to get better.

What did you use to get the center patch black? Shoe polish?

Black acrylic paint. I went over that with random strokes of my base wash and then added some burnt umber mixed with black which I rubbed in using my fingers. I wanted to get a grimy, oily look and the black and burnt umber together worked out great.

Danzo: Those look great! Are those Mojo toe spikes?

Thanks fellas! I want to start the flight suit, but I think it might be wiser to wait until I my armor arrives. I'll work on my EE-3 in the meantime.

From your other thread it doesn't look like you had too much luck finding additional reference pics. Oh well. I was hoping someone would post up a few links, so I could piggy back off their work. I guess I'll do it the old fashioned way and search for them myself.

I don't think there are any really good ESB pics.

^This.

I ended up looking at these:

I have seen the shots such as this one: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/gall...51-boba-fett-empire-strikes-back-costume.html but they are too grimy for my taste in that photo. I prefer the way Fett looks in the "gathering of the bounty hunters" scene. This is what I am modeling my ESB Fett after. In the end I just started to go with what felt right to me. Don't stress about it. If you put yourself into what you're doing, you'll come out with good results. Good luck!
