W.I.P. crow86's ESB Fett

Active Hunter
So I've been working on an ESB Fett since the beginning of summer and I decided I would post up my progress so far and get some feedback while I'm working on this. So far I have completed my MOW gauntlets with Mojo darts and MOW boots with Mojo toe spikes. Now for pics.

Looking good so far! One thing to comment on the left gauntlet: the rocket end is longer than it should be, but luckily it's an easy fix with cut and paint.

Keep the next parts coming, you are on the right track.

Excellent!

Don't forget to make time a metal tip for the rocket. You can use a rivet. Drill a tiny pilot hole and suerglue the tip.

I also see you got the correct switches!

Okay so I got my asok's CC FP helmet. I'm going to be using Testor's pollyscale/railroad paints. I can't find the PRR Maroon in an enamel, I can only find it in acrylic. Can I layer the enamels and acrylics without them reacting to each other? My second question is, I've seen people list a mint green as one of the colors people have used on the back on the helmet. What have some of you guys used for this color? Thanks.

So I updated the tip of the rocket with a piece of rivet. Do I need to trim some more off of it? From the tip of the rocket to the end of the rivet is 1/4"

Thanks guys. Yeah the drill went a bit askew when i made the hole. From a distance you can't really tell, until you get up close. So if I trim about a 1/4 of the end off I think it will help too, because it had looked a bit long to be as well.

So I haven't posted an update for a while now, so here I go. I picked up one of asok FP CC helmets.
The visor area has been cut out and a visor installed using the chicago screw method.

The outer ear cap is installed with magnets.

I had accidentally installed the magnets in the outer ear cap backwards so I had to dig them out after the epoxy had dried and punched a hole through the ear cap.

It is fixed and glued back together correctly and spot filled with bondo now.
I've been working on a wireless RF remote for my helmet. I have everything wired together, just have to mount the servo in my helmet and finish off some trim work. I messed up on my RF topper somehow and could not get it to fit together. Asok in all his awesomeness sent me a new RF topper. Thank you again for that. And thanks to deadland for some helpful tips on trimming it down and getting the new one to fit together. Props to both you guys. The stalk is almost done just have to get a smaller screw for attaching the RF to the stalk.

Nice mod!!

I just got an ASOK helmet too... have you started polishing it yet? I used 3m "0" and "000" steel wool pads... I also used actual steel wool pads and I found that the real steel wool left a shinier finish. I liked the shinier finish better.

Haven't started polishing it yet. I'm going to wait till I've got all of my electronics and RF finished up while it's still cold out. Once it warms up I'll starting polishing and painting.

Love it mate, all looking a treat! See how you go with the lid paint - if you have trouble finding certain colours, thete is always the option of using humbrols, which are awesome, and have color lists already mapped out for ESB. top stuff bud!

I think I am going to use TF's Humbrol color list for my helmet, and Raf's ESB Hero templates. Although I can get some of the Floquils easily nearby

I'm in the process to update (again!) the ESB Hero helmet stencils because of the base gray color inside of the bright silver scratches. It's not a big update but is essential to the general look of the finished helmet. Just read Terminal Fettler's sticky thread and I realised that some of the subtle colors are now on my stencils too (altough some of these were noticed by Jayvee).

Good luck on your suit!

Ok I have a girth belt question for everyone out there. I have a 32" waist, I would need to order a 28" belt correct?

Not necessarily... you will be wearing this over the cod/ butt armor and that adds inches. I'm a 38/ 40" waist and I ordered a 40" belt and I liked the way it looked. It left about 6 inches maybe more of a gap.
