VM's ESB fett

I was able to reach my goal of finishing a wearable ESB fett by SDCC. It was more of a "fitting troop" to get the feeling of everything together. There's still kinks to work out and parts I'd like to upgrade but im pretty satisfied with progress thus far. I wore my fett Wednesday for preview night. I left out some parts like hose, chest display, and a shin tool. Heres a few pics of me suited up and walking to convention center.

Excellent suit!

Just one thought: can you get the helmet to sit a bit higher? Your neckseal should show more. I added a small sponge at the top of my helmet to raise up enough and show the neck.

Yeah, im still tweeking the helmet padding. When I raise it, I cant really see out of the full T just the middle narrow part. Is this the same with you guys?

I love it when a Fett come together!!!! Bryan the suit looks fantastic and you wear it well one of the items that I bought for my lid once I get it done is this MICH/ACH/PASGT Kevlar Helmet Refurb Set Pads Hockey Size 8 to use instead of the foam not sure if it will help but who know as i have a feeling i will have the same issue as you with the helmet.

What method did you end up using to attach the armor?

Well I hope I get to see this bad boy in the near future maybe the L.A con or something, I am just glad that you gave me a chance to be part of your Fett and that you are happy with the end result.

Yup. Pretty much. You get used to it. :)

Ok good. Thought I just had a turtle neck or somthing LOL

Thanks Rob! I ended up using industrial strength velcro to attach the armor. It holds really well. I didnt notice but I guess my blaster was rubbing up against my ab plate and scratched up the lower left area. Maybe a touch up can be in order later down the line ;)

I had a snag with the sidearm holster. I felt the weight was bringing my belts down a bit and would smack the back of my knee armor when I walked. I ended up taking it off. Anyone have any tips or techniques for this??

I'm going to have to deal with this soon too. Maybe some velcro on your suit and on the holster. It may give some support and stop it from swinging.

Yeah we will have to get together maybe have another armor party and touch it up and maybe apply a few more coats of clear coat to it to help prevent that from happening.

It looks great! Congratulations for finishing the project, you may now well enjoy the fruits of the hard work (and spent $$$ :D). How cool that you actually resemble Temuera Morrison a bit as far as I can tell from the picture.

Thanks for providing the kitlist of different costume pieces. I'm following in your wake with the same project. How tall are you by the way? It would help me estimate the size of different items from the said makers. Thanks!

Cheers,

I had to add foam to the top inside my bucket for it to sit correctly. It does force you to look out of the vertical part of the "T". I found that if I have the helmet on straight, I can't actually see straight out, due to my eyes being just wider than the T. You find yourself sort of looking to the left with your right eye and vice versa. It's no biggie and much better than my TK. I did find out however that after trooping, It takes a while for my eyes to readjust from being a bit cross-eyed ! You can tilt your head down a bit and see through the horizontal part, I wind up doing this anyway when talking to kids.
