Vest Fabric List Closed - ALL ORDERS RECEIVED

I have been asked by a few members if I would be ordering any more of the vest fabric that Rogue Studios and I offered earlier in the year. If there is enough interest to meet their minimum order, I will order more of it. The cost is the same, $16/yd (US) plus shipping. Two and a half yards should be enough for most average-sized Fetts to make one vest (inner and outer layers) plus a neckseal. If you are a big boy, ordering three yards won't hurt. This is the fabric I used on my vest as well as what several other members used on theirs. I no longer have the extreme close-up comparison pics of this fabric next to the real vest, but I can say that it is pretty darn close.

This thread is to gauge interest if it will be worth ordering more of this fabric. The cost to have a roll of this stuff shipped isn't cheap (the last roll weighed 75 lbs.), but that cost is factored into the $16.00. The cost to ship your order to you is not included in that price and will be determined. We underestimated it last time and took a loss on the project, so I will make sure I get a more accurate price this time around.

If you are seriously interested in getting in on this, post it here along with how much you want. If the minimum is met, I will post the payment info. Don't ask for that info now as I won't place an order if the interest just isn't there. If I do place an order, the money would be due after the first of the year.

i am interested, after seeing yours and all the other awesome fett costumes at midohiocon , i feel i need to retire my boba, as your guys costumes were miles ahead of mine , i simply cant compete with you guys ( feel kinda ashamed to stand next to you guys now)......anyway , i am starting over , from teh ground up on my boba costume, so i guess i'm interested, you've seen me , i am a LARGE MAN ....( 6'2" , 300 ) ......so i guess 4 yards??.....( still trying to locate the correct pattern, and figure out how to enlarge it).......????

I have some of this fabric and it's pretty awesome! Still waiting to make the vest though...

Any pics? The ones in that other thread don't work. Also is it still true that it's not accurate color for ESB, but more for ROTJ?

I am interested in 3 yards (always good to have extra )

I cannot say for sure that the fabric used on the ESB vest and RotJ vest are not the same due to a lack of any hi-res pictures of it. I will let your eyes be the judge. As for it matching the RotJ vest, we do have hi-res pics to compare it to which you can see by clicking HERE.

My last two turned out very nice with this material. Put me down for 5 yds, BF. Let me know when you need the money.

To those sitting on the fence about this stuff, my advice is to order now. Last time, there were quite a few who didn't jump on this offer, and missed out on an awesome deal. They were kicking themselves later, when they saw the material at cons and other events.

From my experience, Air Mail to Canada is pretty close to what Priority Mail is in the US, just slower, so your cost will be the same as the Yanks.

It is already stated in the very first post as 2 1/2 yards for average sized Fetts, go 3 yards to be safe.

Average sized Fetts: 2-1/2 yds. should be plenty, but you won't go wrong with 3 yds. either.

I flipped the fabric over for my neck seal and the results turned out really well.

I had to buy an extra 2-1/2 yds. myself to meet the minimum order. Since I already have a vest made of this material plus a little extra, I really don't need any more. If you are interested in it, now is your chance to get it. This may be the last run of it I will do personally.

I know Eric is good for his share, so I went ahead and placed the order this morning.

The fabric has arrived and I will begin the measuring/cutting/packaging process tomorrow. I hope to have everyone's order shipped out by Friday. I will change the "<font color="#CC0000">PAID" status next to your names to "<font color="#0000FF">SHIPPED" as they go out, hopefully all of them on the same day. All I ask is that you let me know when your order arrives.

I just noticed that the order I placed had 8 yards backordered. I called them up and they said that they were out (although they told me prior to the order that they had 400 yards in stock). Luckily they found an additional ten yards and are shipping it out to me today. Wanna here the kicker? As I mentioned in the original thread, this fabric is only made a few times a year. They have no plans on producing anymore until they have a minimum order of 300 yards! So for those of you who bought some this time around, you timed it right as it may be some time before it is available again.

::Edit:: The backordered fabric arrived this morning (man, was that quick), so everyone's orders will go out as scheduled (Friday).

I was never very good at math, but according to my calculations (always wanted to say that):

At &#36;16/yard, the minimum order of 300 yards would cost &#36;4800...

Let me just say that it is exactly what I was hoping/searching for all this time and you all will be very pleased! Does anybody know if the vest should have a thin layer of batting or something in it to fill it out a bit?

Yes, when putting together the vest, use a layer or two of batting (&#36;5 for a roll at Jo-Ann's Fabrics). Use batting on the shoulders as well.

Personally, I don't use any batting on the back of the vest, since the entire area is covered by the back-plate. It tends to get a little warm back there with batting.

I just want to thank Chris for all his efforts with this. Hopefully I'll have my first vest ready in about 6 weeks.

One question. Can anyone think of a better way to get the light blue color for the neck seal other than airbrushing/spraying it on?

What's the best way to clean this stuff? It's batninja's old suit and I've worn it enough times it's starting to stink. Should it be dry cleaned or just gentle cycle / cold in the washer?

I wouldn't recommend washing it in a machine, but hand washing it in the sink shouldn't effect it other than maybe washing off some of the weathering. Let it air dry flat.

I missed this shopping spree as well. If anyone decides they don't want their fabric I will be happy to take it off your hands.
