Trooping a MR blaster

I'm using my MR, but I can't imagine going for hours with that thing. It must weight 15-25 lbs. If you are doing serious trooping for long periods of time, you probably want to invest in one of the foam replicas.

Does this count? Because a sling really helps :)

I would strongly recommend you don't, it is just too freakin heavy. You will have to take breaks all the time. I trooped one once for a couple of hours, but had to keep putting it down and I don't consider myself to be any kind of weakling :facepalm

In addition to the weight it is pretty awkward to hold and it is not balanced in any way. Also, try it with the gauntlets on :confused.

If I had to troop an MR again I would crew and leave it at home(y)

Just my 2 cents.

Did 20 carrying a M-16, the MR is heavier and unbalanced, gauntlets don't let you cradle the weapon so its all bicep and wrist, great for isometric exercises but not for hours at a time.

I used it tonight for about 20 minutes. One lap, no house stopping, around the block and I had to put it away. It's retardedly unbalanced and wonky feeling, plus heavy as all hell, so my first new investment will be a foam one o' them jammies as soon as I see one pop up in the Cargo Hold or a run gets going.
