Trimming vac formed armour

Hi all
I picked up my armour from RS propmasters and am in the process of trimming it down to size , Are there any "how to's" tutorials and also are there any tutorials on how to fix the neck armour and back plate and cod piece and kidney plate ?

For the trimming I'd say look at how others trimmed theirs. There's no tutorial to my knowledge, but by looking at other RS users, RKD users and looking at movie shots you should be able to gauge jow much to trim. As for attaching the collar, from personal experience I put snaps on the backplate where it lays over the shoulder so it's secure to the vest, then on the top I have velcro and my cape stud bolted through the collar and back. The collar has velcro on the back edges for the back plate and it stays nice with help from the stud and one snap in the middle of the point towards the bottom to the vest. For me everything holds well, even with the weight of the jetpack as I don't have a harness system yet. I'm sure others have better ideas but just wanted to throw my two-cents in :)

With the armor I pull on my vacuum table, I trim it down with a standing belt/disk sander. If you don't have one I believe harbor freight has them for 40-70 it would be worth it even if it's a one time use. I built a clone with out one using just tin snips to get close and then finishing with sand paper and that was really tough. I'm sure there are other ways to do it but in my opinion the belt sander is the easiest.

When I was trimming my ANH Stormtrooper armor I used a Lexan scissors. Then I cleaned up with a sanding drum on a rotarty Dremel. I also used a fine grit sand paper afterwards to really smooth it out. This was on 2mm ABS. Not sure what material your working with.

Thanks guys , I have trimmed it all down and used my rotary sander on my dremel . After reading the last couple of posts I may have left to much return edge on so will have to have another go at it all . Has anyone got any detailed images of how the back plate and cod piece should look when trimmed ? I am still at a loss on how to trim and attach the neck and back pieces and cod and kidney tho
