Thundercat337 / Sci-Fire Boba Fett Belt and Pouches

postmortem01

Active Hunter
Our friend Lee (Thundercat337) is working on his Boba Fett Belt and Pouches. He's doing a fantastic job. We're autocadding the heck out of the pouches and belt to ensure that they are not only correct in size but proportional as well. Thundercat337 is going as far as making these from whtie vinyl and painting them so they match the screen accurate pouches.

This was one of the first prototypes that he did.

After making this prototype, we decided that the flaps should not be glued down so well.

He is casting the pouch interiors in a lightweight hyperfirm rubber so they are all the same in size and shape. This will also increase the durability and comfort.

Wow John it's great to see all the projects you lot are undertaking. These look really great, I know Lee does fantastic work.

Hey John thanks for the start up! Well as things are this is where I stand on the pouches.... I've gone through three prototypes the first was a regular white vinyl with a leather texture to it but when compared to the reference photos the texture was way to heavy! Plus my stitching width was off.

I decided to go for a smoother white vinyl and it worked out really well! The paint added just the right amount of texture! This prototype however had some proportion and size issues....

So this last prototype is fixed my proportion issues and this one has the "hyperfrim" block in side which makes it very light compared to the ones which have wood! Now I still have some issues with the thread and color of the paint.... but that will be the next prototype! (coming soon)

All question and comments are welcome! Your help will be appreciated so this can be the most movies accurate belt set! Thanks!

Hey everyone! I finished my belt today! I think its pretty accurate and hope I didn't miss anything! This is with the new thread and paint job and has the "hyperfrim" cores so its pretty dang light! I modeled it off the MoM referance pictures. So let me know what you think!

This is the set before paint! The white vinyl looks sooooooo retro!

Those look great! I like how because you used the white vinyl you get the natural distressing coming through like the originals.

Wow. When Lee showed me the white belt and pouches, I just gave a look like, What the hell?!? Now I completely understand. Movie Accurate..... got it.

Hi Lee and welcome to TDH! If your skills with Fett are anywhere near your skills with the sandtroopers (and it appears you are definitely on the right road with this belt) then TDh has a LOT to look forward to from you!

For those who may not know, Lee just helped John and I (actually Lee did all the real work) make the most accurate sandtrooper pouches ever to be produced! His craftsmanship and speed of work or unparalleled!

Lee did a phenomenal job on this project; very talented and proficient guy.

Hey Lee, I just mailed out the new ESB and ROTJ specific patterns yesterday so they should be arriving either tomorrow or Friday.

For those who are unaware, this will be the second project that myself and Art will be teaming up with Sci-Fire on (sandtrooper pauldron being the other).

I have hopes that these ammo belts are going to be the closest renditions that have ever been made, and the last ones anyone would ever need.
