Taking shortcuts for my first build - Gauntlets

Hey everybody. My first build is going quite well so far. I'm doing a budget friendly (like super low budget) Boba Build. I budgeted myself $100 dollars to do the entire build! Well, i'm over budget already haha and I'm just trying to get the costume done for a Halloween party. I'm in the steps of prepping the armor for paint right now. I've made everything except the gauntlets so far. And i don't know if i'll have time to scratch build them as they look quite in depth to build. So i've been thinking of ideas on how to take a shortcut with them.

My idea is to just get a dark red colored fabric and make a sort of wristband just so I have the color there.

For those of you who have made the gauntlets, how long did it take and, compared to other pieces like the helmet, how hard are they to build?

In the end, I would like a pretty decent Boba costume and I plan on going the extra mile to finish all the little details after this party.

If I were in your situation, I would use cardboard to construct something that would be as close to gauntlets as possible. Paint and use Velcro for attachments.

I am right in the same spot that you are, the rest is pretty much done save the missile for the jetpack. I think I should have enough, and you as well, time to bust out the gauntlets. Just use something for the base like craft foam or sintra heated up and formed to your forearms and then build the components around them. It will not be 100% accurate but it will look good.
