Tackle Twill?

Hey Everyone,
So the 501st requires that the flak jacket be made of a tackle twill material, and it must be accurate for level 3. They also say it must be a light gray. However their image seems to be a cream or khaki. Should this be the same color as the flight suit? If yes, why does it look different on their image? What sort of methods are there for dying the flight suit and jacket? Image provided for reference.

Please remember that the pictures from 501st CRL are from some members, NOT from the movie costumes! That means that the pcitures are only for reference, not always 100% accurate.

The costume you provided is one of my friends from Sweden, and if you look at the stock of the blaster, it is worn out due years of trooping, not from movie. The lighting might also provide a problem if you are using CRL pictures, they might not be that good cameras and lighting in them as well, so do not stick with those.

For level 3 accurate parts, this formu is for you, as is some 501st forums. I'd say this place is for you. Remember that for membership, you do not need a Level 3 Fett, either on 501st, or BHG.

If you hit a goldmine, I'd appreciate the info, along few others, I wager.

Also to be done right the vest is weathered which affects the color appearance. But it is in no way the same color as the flight suit. Also the flight suit is not cream or khaki........it is grey with a bluish hue.

Can i jump in on this please ?

I also wish to find out the colour of the vest, the one i got from arklady aka crol is definatly cream / white its not grey or blue at all.

Firstly 1. Is the vest and the neck seal different - Is the neck seal seal the matt side and the vest the shiney side of the fabric ? Because that what appears to have been done for my vest:

2. What colour is the vest- is it white, grey, cream ? My one from ark lady is cream, i wanted some additional fabric so i attemted to order some and found out none match:

the vest you got from her is called "greyish" unless you specified something else. i use the same stuff on gloves. though it's my understanding that the neck seal should be shiny side and matte side on the vest.

I have it the other way round will that effect anything >

I don't think it will affect anything. I also have Arckladys vest in that same configuration and it works great.

Not to change the subject, BUT when you ordered the best from Arklady, did it come with the jetpack strap openings...? Also, I think she gives the option of shiny or dull side out for both the neck seal, and the vest. I imagine shiny for both is acceptable too - you can dull down the sheen when weathering, right!?!

yeah mine did you can see it in the pictures i posted above

I believed that it was all shiny side or all matt, i appear to have a combination but apparently it does not matter

Soft parts Arklady 100%. Mine did not have the openings for the jetpack straps. And yes the 501 clear me. Hope this helps!
