Update, early morning 4/3.

I have been a busy bee!

Well, here it is! After a brief absence of a saw, I've finally been able to get back to work on this project, and am very pleased to announce that I have finished one of the belts! This is an ESB version, with the faux stitching. Don't ask why a ROTJ guy would make the first belt an ESB.....it's just a well paid belt....errr, I mean well MADE belt!

Anyway, enough with all of the mumbo-jumbo, PICTURES!

And here's what a JEDI version would probably look like, with only 7 pouches.

Now the belt is a little smaller than my size, that's why you can see some exposed velcro on the back. As for the pouches, they are like the real deal, all different sizes. Not anything totally out of line, but some deeper, some taller, ect. No two are identical!

As for the jumpsuit, it's a home made deal. I sewed it together from white fabric, and did a few quick dyes. Added a tiny bit of black for a hint of dirt/stain.

By the way, I think that the way the ESB pouches go is 4 on the left and 3 on the right. Am I right??

It came out totally awesome SC! Seeing one on a suited up Fett gives it dimension that a plain belt pic can't do.

It is all up to the "buyer's" preference. Like the next ESB belt I'm making....it will have the 4 stitches in back, and the 2 in front.

OK, here is the finished, mother of all faux stitched leather ESB pouches! 4 pouches on the left, and 3 on the right ( :p ), and snaps glued on.

And, as usual, a big update to go along with it! Good news, and bad news. First the good news.
I have mastered the real stitching on the leather belts!!!

Bad news, I couldn't get it to work as wekk with the vinyl. I don't know if it's simply too soft or what, but most of the time, I can't get the needle to thread through the bobbin.

You'll notice on the far left that it did sew stitch fine, but further down, it's coming undone, and in most spots, the needle simply made marks through the paint, exposing the white vinyl underneath.

So the leather has been mastered, but the vinyl still needs a little work.

Creating your own stuff is sometimes overwhelming, rewarding, but sometimes is frustrating...like me that I've been trying to get my Jumpsuit material, and it seems that I can't ind it anywhwhere.

As for the leather belt goes...I said it before...AMAZING and IMPRESSIVE! Awesome work, and now I'm jealous cause I'm using vinyl for my pouches (not entirely accurate), nailed with tacks in the back (the ammo pouches are shaped by little wood boxes inside to shape it) to a normal $5 leather belt from the Dollar store. Good Job indeed!

I am now taking payments on these belts. Realistically, only for the leather ones. I'm still trying to iron out the bugs on the vinyl ones.

Absolutely AWESOME! I love that real stitching on the leather.I think I'm being swayed back to the leather.BTW,the new pouches of belt#2 look darker,and much more like the ESB belt IMHO.That is unless it's a coincidence,and just a trick of the flash on the camera.

One question though . . . Do the snaps really go on the outside of the ESB belt pouches like that? To me it always looking like they were on the inside, and just kind of the "shape" of them showed through to the outside.

The belts look amazing SC! How thick is the leather that the actual belt part is made from? I ordered the Tandy Leather stuff, I think MaxPlague used, and I still haven't been able to sew the thread through it. It's so freakin thick! How do you sew through that stuff?

As for sewing through the leather, it's a little tough. The machine barely wants to do it. Sometimes I have to turn it by hand when it gets stuck.
I've got a new idea on the vinyl, I'll be trying a new idea today. Hopefully it works!

By the way, I like the last 8 pouches to the right. They have more of a ROTJ color to them. Are they a lighter in color than the first 7 or is it a camera thing.

Now I have to admit publicly that I turned my back on ESB. Yes, My Fett is ROTJ. Sorry WPK but many of the parts of my Boba Fett costume are allready ROTJ so there was no point on getting an ESB belt anymore.

But, that dose not mean that I will not make an ESB variation

What's the difference with the horizontal stitching on the belts? First esb has four horizontally stitched lines, esb2 has only two? Are there two versions or does 2 not have the two lines yet?

The snaps could be placed underneath the vinyl pouches, but since the leather is a little tougher than vinyl, the snap outline probably won't be seen. It would be like trying to cover it with cloth, as opposed to covering it with thick paper or cardboard.

The set includes the belt. The ones in those pictures have belts, you just can't see them.

Here it is, vinyl pictures!

The belt has a lot of white, because much of it came off, as I tried to slide the pouches on. Because of the elastic nature of the vinyl, the loop around back is very tight fitting. But nothing a little more brown paint can't touch up...unless the owner likes it better that way!

Mardon, the belt used for the movies was made out of vinyl I chose leather for durability.

I know I say this whenever I get a new Fett part but . . . this one . . hands down, is my favourite. It's simply amazing.

And to top it all of . . . it was sent to me with a small declared value as a gift so them BASTARDS AT CANADA POST didn't ding me a single cent.
