Stormcrow 85's WIP: Boba Fett - ESB

send me the measurements of your visor opening and i will cut a visor for you....for the extra darts !! i have several sheets of acrylic that i use with my helmets. i have 2 thicknesses 1/16 or 1/8 the 1/16 much easier to bend/shape

Thanks everyone. I built a mold so I can pour aluminum for my rangefinder stalk this weekend. The lid to my smelter broke so I will have to wait a bit on it.

So I decided to make a mold and melt some aluminum today. I think it turned out OK. It is not done, I still have to file and sand some more. This will be a solid range finder.

Home brew parts :D love the range finder stalk, helmet turned out great, Aaron (y) question? what red did you use for the head band, mandible etc? or was it a custome mix. I had a great custome mix on my first lid but it came out to red on the second (current lid) and I forgot what I used

Thank you for the kind words. I used the Humbrol paint numbers listed on threads here. The final red coat is red 73.

I took pictures for a timelapse, but not of the whole process so it might not get made I am sorry to the 9 or 10 of you that watch my super cool videos ;).

I made the range finder. At some point in time in the future I plan on adding the LEDs to the range finder, but for now I am about out of time. I am leaving for 6 months and will be able to get almost nothing done on the costume until next year so beside trying to every once in a while check in on some of the projects I follow on here I will be pretty much gone after this Friday. I will try and put on the costume this week and get a shot of where it stands at this stand still. Thank you to everyone so far for the words of encouragement, and help I have received from members on this forum I hope to see you when I get back in January.

Range finder Pictures, no persplex or whatever that clear material is called so I went with an ocean grey for that and black for the range finder. I decided to do silver as a topical application rather than layered because of the very small amount of silver there is on this piece.

I had the matte black out for a guitar I am painting so I decided to add the scorch marks around the dent. I think it turned out pretty good.

Thank you all for the encouragement. The costume will be paused until most likely the start of 2017. Thank you for watching if you have any questions let me know I can still sometimes respond over the next few months.

Hey Stormcrow,

have you got some templates for all the stuff you tailor- made
sorry for my bad english
For the flight suit there is a user named Arkady on this website and she has posted what sewing pattern she used I would use that one. The armor was all made using either Wizard of Flight or Raffelfett templates also on this website. Hope that helps.

Shameless bump of my thread, with nothing really to add. I am getting excited though. I should be starting again soon on my costume. I have been informed that my belt has not held up perfectly the past few months some of the glue gave up the ghost. I am going to be making a to do list, but seeing as the helmet is pretty much done I think I will move on to jetpack and knee pads next. Still keeping my eyes out for boots that I can convert.
