Staying cool inside your costume

Hello all, I am trying to gather ideas for keeping cool inside of the costume I will one day own.

I have searched a bit on the site and one person suggested grommets in the cloth parts of the costume to help ventilate

What I am wondering is if anyone here has any suggestions for keeping cool. Any special clothes that are recomended?

I was at NY Comicon this year and I had on my regular clothes and a light jacket and I was dying from the heat. I know between the clothes, helmet, and jet pack I will heat up easily so I want to try and minimize that as mucha s I can.

I did see one thread suggesting various ways to hide water and a drinking tube in the jet pack or pcokets but I haven't seen any ideas that have been implemented. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

(I posted a similar thread in the helmet section so I'm only really focusing on the soft parts of the uniform here)

I've installed fans inside my helmet to keep my head cool and wear body armor simular to the stormtroopers under my gear and it seems to work.

This may be a little more costly, but maybe someone could incorporate vent mesh in the areas under the flak vest that will not be seen to help keep cool,similar to some Vader suits.

The TK under armor is a good idea if you use the underarmor brand ones that are supposed to whisk away body heat and sweat and such. probablyworkeven better with a jumpsuit with the vent mesh on it.

hi
moisture wicking under shirt and underware from walmart works good thats what i wear real body armour

I just sweat...I've tried fans and all that and fact is, you're going to sweat no matter what. Just stay hydrated!

I'm with Echo, It's not like you do this every day. Tuff if out. But I do like the mesh idea on the jumpsuit. Alot of the Vader's do that to their leather suits that's not seen at all. Like the back etc...

I just tough it out and try to take regular breaks to re-hydrate. Years of working in an non air-conditioned warehouse has helped me to acclimate myself to the hot and humid conditions inside my costume.

Yeah, I got so tired of dealing with fans back when I only had my TD...They're loud and for the amount of cooling they actually do down here in Florida, it's just not worth it...

Just make sure to air out your gear afterwards and use some febreeze. Every now and again I'll give certain spots like the collar, cuffs, etc. a sink bath with warm water and woolite.

My TS smells like garbage around the collar after a few troops so I keep up on that and my Fett jumpsuit for sure! :cheers

I need help on my costume. I don't know how to start my vest. i heard some things about tackle twill but that doesnt make sense to me. what is the vest material/where can i get it?
