Spray gun painting armor

I was curious, has anyone baught or rented a paint sprayer and painted they're armor, knee and shoulder plates, back plate, jet pack and gauntlets?

No, a power sprayer like what you'd rent at Home Depot .
I'm going to try and put together a "ESB" Boba Fett suit and
It seems like it'd be easier this way I'll probly try it on the jet pack
Cause its 90% green the chest armor possibly also

For $100 you can get an airbrush and compressor thatll do the job better with the right colors. Its not a single color neither is the chest armor.

The original armor was done with a cheap single-action airbrush, wasn't it? I know that the helmets were. Check out Harbor Freight or Princess Auto (depending on where you live) for a combo airbrush & compressor pack.

I can tell you that a single action or even a spraycan can do WORK. I mean look at graphitti it can be SICK with a guy that takes his time....you can use a single action that costs $50? And if u dont have a compressor its an excuse to get one...2-5 gallon nothing crazy.

A professional spray rig is going to put out way too much paint for the thin coats you are going to want on your armor.

I have used spray cans on all my parts so far and it looks great.

FYI, I used to paint home professionally and own my own spray rig. This is not designed for detail work. It would be like using a sledge hammer to put a nail in drywall to hang a picture.
