Source for 32" Girth?

Hi everyone,

If I understand what I've read about girth belt sizing, I probably want to shoot for a 32" belt. Does anyone have a recommended source for girths this size? I was planning to go with a Centaur Non-slip Mohair Girth from Amazon, but the smallest they have is 34". I suppose I could always make my own out of rope, but I'd rather just get a real girth belt and not worry about it...

They are small one size I assumed and with the dying they shrink a little bit more, so a 34" would become a 32" 31". That's what I have been reading. I ordered a 38" so Let's see If a need to hit the gym twice so it fits hahah.

This is relevant to my interests. Make sure you let us know which worked for you!

What I had read was that you want to order a belt that is your belt-size, buckle to buckle, so that once it's on over everything, it is the right size. I'd rather risk the back gap being a little too big than nonexistent. That said, if I can't find a 32", I'll go with a 34" and hopefully it'll work out fine.

EDIT: I stand corrected. I hadn't realized that the length listed is partially made up for by the saddle or some such. So I guess you do want to order a longer belt than I thought, in which case I do NOT need a 32" belt. Hooray!

I am a 32" waist so I have bought a 28" girth belt , the 501st crl says the webbing that attaches to the buckles is 6- 8 " . Do hopefully if things go to plan it should be the right size ?

That's how I used to think, but I'm not so sure. If I understand correctly, a 28" girth isn't actually 28" from buckle to buckle - the measurement takes into account the part of the saddle that it attaches to as well, I think. So once you add the size of the armor and flight suit, your gap may actually be a little big with a 28" girth. But I'm not sure, and hopefully a more experienced veteran will be able to set us straight if I'm getting it wrong.

What's an appropriate length for girth belts? Is it more accurate to get a brown belt or a dark red belt? I'm just wanting to know to get an idea of what to buy.

A 32 inch girth will not be 32 inches tip to tip. It will be closer to 28 or 29. The intent of the girth belt is to fit under the horse to attach the saddle. The additional inches you see in the measurement are made up by the belt of the saddle. That is why both ends of the girth have buckles..........they aren't supposed to attach to each other.

Victory Canter and Horseloverz both have more sizes than are listed on the websites. If you email them they can help with additional lengths.

As far as color it depends on which Boba Fett version you are doing. ESB is more brown, ROTJ is red.

You do need a gap in the back of the girth in order to attach the nylon straps. When measuring remember that you are not only going over clothing but you will also be going over the top edge of the cod and kidney armor. Plan accordingly. The nice part is that this is one of the less expensive parts so if you order a wrong size you are not out that much. I would say that if you wear a 32 in your blue jeans you will need to order at least a 32 to 34 inch girth belt to make it have the appropriate fit.

hope that helps.
