slave1pilot builds and paints Fettpride gauntlets

Nathan ... I don't even have the words for how much I'm looking forward to this bro. Glad to see you're getting busy on them !! And I l know it's "just primer" but for some reason, they look great already

BTW- the magnets arrived yesterday, I'll try & get them installed over the weekend.

I'm looking forward to seeing you use magnets to close these... I'm looking to get a set of FP gaunts and wanted to try this method to close. I used magnetic strips to close one end of my previous gaunts and they worked well. Good luck with these!

Forgive the newb question but will you use magnets on both sides of a given gaunt or will you "hing" one side somehow?
So looking forward to this build. :) Thanks Nathan.

This is a good question... I'm curious too... I know from other threads the ESB gauntlets were not hinged (although its more practical to do so)

Magnets on both sides so it "snaps" together
I used the same technique (with smaller magnets) on My EPIII bucket for the Face-off mod.

The 10MM magnets seem too big and powerful.
With only 4 attachment points per gauntlet, they snap together and might pinch.
they are also difficult to take apart.I would rather have that than them falling apart on their own.
I'm using CA Glue to hold them on, but the magnets are too smooth and the pull off of the gauntlets.

gonna have aniother go at it after this week.

I was gonna use some Devcon

Have you considered Goop?

Its good and strong and can be pried off if you ever decide to take off the magnets... Heck... jetpack and knees are put together with it and they are not comming apart any time soon... I hope.
