OK, so here it is. A lot of people have requested for me to compare the Bounty Hunter gloves of two respected costume makers in the prop community. Finding quality Bounty Hunter gloves are hard to come by. Since I am constructing the ROTJ version of Fett, I went with this particular glove-style, and not the brown/patched pre-production scheme. I purchased gloves from Katarra and Slave1. You decide which one suits your Fett costume requirements.
The first noticeable difference between the two gloves is that Katarra's gloves are more tight fitting and have a thinner, more leaner look to them. Slave1's gloves have a more puffier look and exhibit a more padded feel. The two gloves attach with velcro at the ends to grip the wrist.
I liked the way Slave1's gloves were more puffy. It looked identical to the Star Wars Visual Dictionary's Fett pictoral, especially while holding my EE-3 Blaster Rifle. The Katarra gloves still looked good, but I noticed that they were tight and made my fingers look really skinny.
The overall glove material used in Katarra's glove was more thicker and seemed more durable. And the wrist cuffing was made of a thicker mesh material than Slave1's glove. I wish my Slave1 glove would've been made of a thicker material because it does seem a bit thin, especially for a padded-thicker looking glove. However, one thing I disliked about my Katarra glove was that the sewing of the fingers was a bit off where the finger pads were placed, resulting in a slightly crooked finger pad that I would have to adjust and straighten out. The finger/thumb pads on Slave1's glove were sewed with precision and were flawless.
In regard to the full view, again you will notice a more fuller look to Slave1's glove vs. Katarra's glove. You can visually see the stitchings on the Slave1 glove more distinctively. Another variation between the two gloves is color. For those that want a darker shade of grey, the Katarra glove has a dark glove scheme to it. The Slave1 glove was a very very light shade of grey. In terms of delivery rate, both dealers were friendly and cordial. I got the orders in within the time frame promised. (4 weeks from Katarra, and 7 weeks from Slave1.) Both responded well with emails. Both shipped the items via US Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. And Jon from Katarra Kreations even called me to make sure my order was received. I hope this review helps out others who still want to order gloves from either of these great costume dealers.
