SHOWOFF: My SE Fett (please dont laugh!)

ArmoSpetsnaz

New Hunter
Hey guys, here is my Special Edition Fett. Please dont laugh too hard at it. I know that it is missing some paint *cough*ear-caps*cough*

The story is I did this costume for halloween party a few years ago with my fiance at the time, and it came out pretty bad. Anyway, chick leaves me for some other dude right before our wedding... I have to move out, and the costume goes into storage upstate while I am busy with the military, and is forgotten. Flash forward a year and a half. My friend tells me that she has a fundraiser for abused kids in Orange County and needs people in costumes to help out with the event. Light goes on in head, I pick up costume, strip it all down and begin again. It was a big hit, and the kids absolutely loved it. It was so rearding making all those kids smile!! :D

I know what the problems are with it, ear caps, no decals, jet pack, jet pack harness, gloves, blaster, no spats, etc... the list continues!! I painted the WHOLE thing in 3 days between work. So please dont rip it apart too bad. Let me know what additional stuff needs work, so I can improve.

I would like to thank LADY SEWSFORUS for the vest! (Thanks!!! It came out AWESOME!), RUFFKINTOY for the guanlet kit (Thank you!!), and someone in Canada that I bought the raw bucket from years ago (Thank you whoever you are) The rest of the costume is entirely scratch built by mylself.

And I'd like to think my HOTT girlfriend who is awesome and let me totally trash the house and backyard while I was doing this! Thank you, babe, I love you!

Ok Gents, here it goes!

Very respectable costume man. Looks better than the one I'm throwing together for my friend's wedding, the plastic we used for the armour plates totally did not shape well, but it'll look fine enough for the party. You definitely have a great base costume to work with!

Thank you very much! A lot of the armor is made from pieces of thick pvc pipe. I cut sections, and then slit them down the middle. I then boiled it to open up the tubes into sheets. To get a basic curve I then threw it in the oven at abour 300 degress and it made it malleable. I then shaped it, and ran it under cold water and the curve shape set. I did the knees and the top of the jet pack the same way. I just need to come up with a better bethod for the jet pack harness, it kept slipping down and I had to keep pulling it back up every 5 minutes.

Any ideas?

your back must have been killing you by the end of it. other than that, good start for something you did up in three days. now that you don't have a deadline to get done by you can go back and make everything as perfect as you want.

Suprisingly my back wasnt too bad. I'm used to heavier packs from the military. But you are right about the deadline. The paint was still wet when I was driving over there. Now that I have the time, I'm going to back and touch up the paint spots that I missed, and start upgrading to more screen accurate stuff possible piece by piece. I'm thinking bout fettpride armor, a better digital readout, etc. I want to get a Mystery Helmet or something a little bigger, my big Armo nose was SMASHED the whole time! LOL!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

You painted that in only 3 days? AWESOME work! (y)

Not only that, but I give you big props for doing that fund-raiser, its a great cause.

By the way, what MOS are you?
