SHOWOFF: Mini Boba & Jango Build

Well I was able to get the twins costumes done in time for Halloween, and I thought I'd show you the final product. Everything was scratch-built by me using Wizard of Flight templates and a lot of help from you all. I wish I could report success at our neighborhood costume contest, but it seems the Yuzan Vong could learn a few things from cute 2 year-olds in fuzzy blue dinosaur costumes:)! Still, the kids had a blast, and that's what I was going for.

The knees were made from a PVC coupler that I slit up the back and shaped with a heat gun. I modified some Wizard of Flight templates and cut out the shape with a dremmel. The dart blocks are MDF epoxied on and then I put a little plummer's epoxy in the joint. Darts are wooden dowels. I don't have a tutorial as I was really crunched for time and did not get any pics of the jet pack builds. However, the basic body was from the 'MINI BOBA BUILD" at tk409.com. The jet packs are "For Sale" signage over heavy cardboard with a bit of Bondo. Jango thrusters are yogurt cups, while Boba's are the milk cartons they give out in Happy Meals with some styrofoam balls attached. The center cylinders are disposable wipe containers. Jango's stubby greebles are Easter egg sections, and Boba's are the tops of Emerald-brand nut containers. Hope that helps!

EDIT - Corrected bad URL
