Shackman's Lights

Hi, I'm new to the forum...but I've been a visitor for some time. All of the work you folks have done on your costumes are breath taking to say the least. I'm ordering my own suit through RA, should be ready in a few months. I'm really interested in getting the Shackman Lights, can someone send me a message with the price for this awesome addition to one's costume and ordering information? Thanks!

OK, first off, thanks to everyone who has posted since Robert (I wasn't ignoring ya, just didn't want to make "thank you" posts for each individual post). ;) Y'all's happiness with the end-product is what it's all about. Since I don't have a Fett suit of my own, I take pride in hearing what others desribe as having the 'ultimate' suit, and knowing that I had a part in it.

Second, there aren't any 'runs' per se on these lights. I designed them over 2 years ago, and have been selling them on an ongoing basis. I announced, way back when, that I'd do these as long as there was a demand for them. And while demand has died down a bit, it hasn't gone away completely. I have just a few boards on-hand, and will be going back to work soon ... so my time will be a bit more limited. However, for anyone needing to save up for a while, I can always order more boards (I just have to wait for a few committed orders to justify the expense of having them etched) and work on them in my free time. So as I've said before, I'm not out to push sales. If/when you're ready to order a set, feel free to get in touch with me and we'll get you hooked-up.

Finally, Fosterkeri, welcome aboard ... or Howdy! as we'd say around here (down south). ;) You can get light info and order directly through me, or ... since you're ordering other parts of your suit through RA, you can get them from him as well. The price is the same either way (to avoid competition), and you get the same thing, since I'm RA's supplier for the lights.

Thanks,

Shackman...thanks for the heads up...I'll either go through him or I'll let you know if I just go through you instead. Thanks again for replying so quickly. Glad I could join such a prestigious group of people who love Fett as much as I do.

Greetings Fetts,

I got my ShackMan's lights today. I bought a vest from a guy who already had a non-movie accurate chest display built into it. How do I go about installing ShackMan's display properly? Has anyone built some sort of box to keep the electronics safe before permanently installing it? Any and all info would be most appreciated. Thanks! :D

The R2 stuff is that good, huh?! :D That's awesome!

Ya know what would be cool? If we could get someone to make decals for car windows with the dashes and the letters you see on the chest display. And have it done in red.

Ya know what I mean? Kind of a dented helmet secret decal that we could put on our windows that would signify fellow Fetts. It's just an idea. :D

hey, give me the circit blue prints and a list of parts.I want to make my own.pm me with them.

Thanks to Brak's gracious hosting, you can find the schematics here:

Empire Strikes Back Chest Display Scematics

Just scroll down the page a bit. The parts lists are included in each part of the schematic. Just keep in mind (as others have missed ths part) that U4 is a microcontroller, which requires programming. Other than that, there's nothing tricky about it.

And FYI, for anyone interested in ordering a board, my last one went out the other day. I'm all out of etched circuit boards, and won't be ordering any more unless/until there's enough interest to justify it (that's the most expensive part of the work for me, having the boards etched). So I'm not saying that no one will be able to order one again, just that I'd need a couple/few committed buyers first. Again, just an FYI.

Thanks, and good luck (to Jangoboba) on building the board. :)

Well Shack, you can put me down for a set of lights if others jump on and you can mangage it. Already have one set and they rock. Gonna need a set for ESB Fett once he comes around.

Funny you should mention that, because I was just coming to post that I think another batch of etched boards may be coming up. I've had two spoken for (ready to make payment) and another one being just interested for now. This isn't quite enough to fund the etching (the boards will cost me more than both payments I receive). However, if others think they may want one in the not-too-distant future, I'll probably spring for it. :)

Sorry, I just get a bit precautious at ordering a large number of boards (like 18 - 24), and wondering if I'm going to have a bunch of them that never sell. Having no steady income to-date, it's hard to invest something I don't have. ;) But it's better than ordering 4 or 5 boards, and paying $30 each for them (*just* for the etching that is). :)

Thanks,

I'm sorry but I HAVE to echo what others said. I recently got some from a TDHer and I can't stopping looking at them. They definitely are a MUST for any Boba!!!!! :)

Well got my set of chest lights. Very bright and very clear. These are just awesome. Worth every penny. If you don't have a set, get one. You won't be disappointed.
