After much anticipation, I received my Chest Display by Shackman today. All I can say is that this display is worth every penny. I love it! Very High Quality. Thanks again.

Duh!

I can agree with you there... I received mine last week or the week before...

Have you chased your wife around in the dark yet wearing it in interesting locations?

Wait, that wasn't meant to be said out loud LOL.

Regards,
OK

CHECK PLEASE! lol

I don't go through too many of the threads here, but was surprised (pleasantly) to see a post about these. Thanks for the great review.

And honestly, my favorite part of supplying these lights ... is hearing stories like Overkill's. He's not the first to admit (to me anyway) to chasing a loved one around the house with them. ;)

Thanks guys,

Just wanted to say another 'thanks'. :) And thanks to all those that have bought them over the past couple of years. Interest has definitely died down, but such is the case with any product. But it gave me good incentive to pursue other projects (Vader, R2, BTTF) ... wouldn't have happened without these guys' support. :)

Thanks,

are these the lights i saw a schematic on in one of the costuming sights.... if so i have a couple of questions on the shematic... someone PM me if they are trying to scratch make these

Patrick

If you can give me a link to the site you're talking about, I'll tell you if they are the same or not. :)

And if you ARE trying to make them based on my plans, feel free to shoot any questions my way. I've walked one other person through the process. I've heard of a few people trying to make them, but only know of two (for sure) that have completed it. Again, I'd be glad to help if possible ... that's why I posted the schematics. :)

I've got to post a "me too" here. Allan's lights do really make the Fett suit take another step into a realistic Mandalore outfit, not just a costume.

I heartily reccomend a set of Allan's lights.

I have these toooooo! Believe it or not, this was the SECOND purchase I made for my Fett suit, just after my Cheng boots when that run was available. I HAD to get the Shack Lights because it becomes the centerpiece of the Fett outfit. I think it makes people wonder just how operational your suit really is. Some people are like...hmm...some freaky lookin lights goin' off in the chest, I just hope nothin' in that gauntlet works. They see the hoses and for all they know you have some propane in the jet pack somewhere and a working torch tip gauntlet that can roast them. OK, so this was a total fantasy post and I digress. IT COULD HAPPEN! :angry

GREAT LIGHTS BRO!

Did you ever make a rangefinder light kit?

Josh

Thanks for the kind words, Josh ... even if it was over-the-top. ;)

As far as the range finder circuit, no. I designed one at a members request, but before I actually announced they were ready, Jim beat me to the punch with one incorporating the servo controller and everything. His was an awesome circuit (as is his other work), so there was no point in doing mine. Aside from that, I believe someone else here recently started selling range finder lights (just the light).

On that note, if there's anyone looking to get a set of chest lights, you may want to move on it soon. Not that I'm trying to push a sale, but I'm DYING to get back to work SOON. Unemployment sucks pretty hard. So even if it's nothing more than a $7/hr job, and working all the hours I can get, I've gotta find something. And if that happens, my time will be short, so the building process will be dragged out quite a bit. Just thought I'd give a heads-up while I still have a little free time. :)

Thanks again to everyone for their reviews!

Like everyone who had bought Shackman's chest light display before just said...These are the lights to get, and makes the costume stand out from the rest, so as Bobo's RF lights and BKBT's Jet Pack lighted beacon.

An example of this was last halloween during a costume contest inside a club, which everyone first impression was the chest display and looking at it, to then asking me questions like "what that means?" and "where did you get that?", just saying that "I made them" or got them online, cause I was skeptical about giving personal info outside this forum.

Anyways, those three items, plus the boots, makes the costume totally and impressive to the public, specially during the night. Thanks Shackman!

I cannot....EVER....stress how unbelievably awesome these lights are. You could have a whole suit of wet, soggy paper mache', and nobody would give a rat's ass.

Here's TD-9265 from last Halloween..... he can't take his eyes off me, er, them....."You are getting sleepy...very sleepy...."
