I would just get some white coveralls from here www.automotiveworkwear.com and convert them, then dye it make sure to get 100% cotton or it might not hold the dye.

Those look like army coveralls in which case you cannot get the dye out no matter what, even after you bleach it 10 times its still bright green.

    Hey!

I bought the redkap suit... only without realizing, I bought the 65/30 poly cotton. D'oh! No matter how much I soak this thing in bleach and water it will not fade! What's the deal?!?!? Anyone know a better method to fade a charcoal grey poly/cotton blend jumpsuit? Will RIT color remover do a better job, or am I hosed?

Shinobi, I bought the 100% cotton Red Kapp...Even they won't bleach easy. I've used 3 gallons of bleach and about 20 packets of Rid color remover and it barely knocked it down the color halfway to my goal. I had to stop bleaching it because it is destroying the fabric.

Don't bleach down - dye up. Get white (100% cotton) and dye it the color you want.

You'll never get the colour to come out of army surplus coveralls, they're made to be as tough and as colour resistant as possible! Trust me on this, I tried something similar a few years ago.

I would recommend bobamakers flightsuits. They are accurate and made to your measurements so you can be sure it'll fit. I'll send you a pm with his web-address as it's against the rules to post here (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong)

You can get grey overalls/etc... from from most good safety wear shops.
With your sewing skills you could easily adapt and modify it .. best to buy two though

Overall they look good. You should use the short sleeved jumpsuit as your base, then sew a second long sleeve inside/under the short sleve. If you look at Boba's jumpsuit it has two sets of sleeves, one long and one short. Also get a thread puller (I think thats what they are called), to cut the thread and remove the chest and butt pockets.

    i got one from JC Penny's (http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/Product...376E&cmPosID=1)

It's 65/35 and it took the rit in one shot. I bought the white set and used black rit in the bottle and it turned out a nice grey (not screen accurate, but good enough for me).

When I got it, it was as white as the box it's on.

Wow, very good!!!, i did get a pair of very white 60/ 40 overalls, but they are well to big, im only a 36 chest (and even for a woman thats well small!!!)
Im getting the blueish overalls above from ebay, they seem to be pretty good, and they are cheaper than all the others ive found on the net.
But anyway...good job!!! im very impressed!!!
