SE versus ROTJ Boba

Triple d

Hunter
Hello all!

I have just started the process and was trying to decide should I do the SE or ROTJ? I have already made the cape (yeah turned out pretty good). But besides the ESB helmet on the ROTJ costume what other differences are there? I saw that the ammo belt is different for SE (12 pouces versus 8) but is there anything else? Sorry if there was a thread for this already, I searched but hey I probably overlooked it.

Thanks

Depending on how much detail you want to put into it, there's almost an entirely different set of costume/armor for the SE Fett. Just by giving a generic glance at the two, most people figure "Both have red gauntlets, a gray jumpsuit, and different armor from the ESB", but in reality, the ROTJ and ROTJ SE Fett are 2 different sets of costumes, with even more differing costume pieces depending on what photo shoot you're looking at.

If you look through the photo gallery, you'll notice the Art of Star Wars photo album, that will show you the ROTJ SE Boba. But, looking at the Magic of Myth exhibits, you're pretty much looking at the screen used (for the most part) ROTJ Boba. But, if you go into the gray back-drop "model shots" of Boba posing in all those different stances, he's wearing different gauntlets (Mixed: ROTJ screen-used left, PP3 right), has ammo pouches added that are from the PP3 belt, and a completely different jet-pack harness underneath (AOSW he's wearing the Webbing belt, the model shoot he's wearing the 4 bar seat-belt type, thus being 2 completely different harnesses). Also, the ROTJ SE Braids differ from the ROTJ screen-used. Even the jumpsuit, boots, and spats are different on the ROTJ SE.

My personal opinion, go with the ROTJ SE. You can't deny the sheer artistic brilliance of the ESB helmet, the numerous pouch arrangement, etc. Go with the model-shoot photos for reference, and pick apart what you see from there with the AOSW photos for detailing and stenciling.

Any other questions brother, hit me up through PM. I'll steer you in the right direction.

Oh something else. I was looking at the guidelines for the costume at bounty hunters guild (for the 501st) and I noticed that the dimensions for the cape need to be 30 x 36 approx. I found on the Star Wars Costume Wiki that to be correct it needs to be 27.25 wide by 35" long. Are they going to ding me for this?

They don't (well my GML didn't) go this far. Basically, you have to look the part. Let's say your 4-11 (like my girlfriend). A scaled cape is more important. Same goes for my friend Marc who is the absolute tallest ARC trooper in the Legion. Think of all CRLs as a guideline as much as rules. There are some out there who might seem like they are breaking out the micrometer, but as long as it looks screen accurate on you I doubt anyone is going to demand a picture of you measuring the cape.

Good Deal Thanks
