New Hunter
In my own opinion...the Special Edition Boba is the best!!! The ESB bucket w/ ROTJ from the neck down is truly badass!!! But I've been torturing myself for a week, wondering which BF I should scratch build (I'm starting this weekend) since ultimately I would love to join the 501st, to truly wear my finished product as often as possible, lol. BUT...as of now...the 501st doesn't have any requirements for the SE BF. So are my only real choices ESB or ROTJ? ...or are there any members here that could really help me out w/ some info or advice? ...ty in advance!!!

PS...is it a mortal sin to do a SE BF???

The 501st does recognize the SE. The CRL is still being hammered out. Check out the Bounty Hunter's Guild Forum and you can see the work in progress. It is about 90% or more finalized.

And the SE is one of the more popular ways to troop as Boba Fett.

501st definitely recognizes SE. The guidance I got when I was putting the finishing touches on my Fett at the beginning of the year was basically to finish it like a ROTJ kit with an ESB lid. This only was an issue when finalizing whether or not I should have the "battle thong" and how many hoses should be on what side. Ultimately just make sure you contact your local garrison. They should be able to give you a more official answer.

Thanks guys for the input!!! You just clinched it...SE it is!!! ...to eSKay...you costume is awesome, truly outstanding!!! Hope that's me in 6 to 12 months!!!

To bad they dont realize there was TWO ROTJ SE photoshoots and there was a brown pouch in one shoot not the other.... two different right gaunts used and only care that the armor is damaged looking with no regard for the AOSW/C4 armor....

@ Fett 4 Real...thanks for that tip!!! Quick question though (and you'd be the one to ask...is the only differences between WoF & Rafal's helmet templates are that WoF are asymmetrical (as in the movie) and Raf made his perfectly symmetrical, and evened it all up??? Please excuse me of I'm wrong...this is just what I've deduced!!!

Rafals templates are more accurate....WOFs missed a few things...it was longer ago when he made it...also theyll need to be resized to a specific helmet.

The biggest thing they gigged me on for my SE Fett was the additional ammo pouches on the belt, 12 total for the SE (there is evidence of possibly 14, but at least 12)

Thanks Armydad...and again Fett 4 Real!!! Is sizing the helmet just a trial & error type thingy...ie : print out @ 100%...then keep printing out and sizing to my giant-hot-air-balloon-noggin by increasing or decreasing the %...???

ps...I have read through Antman's tutorial 2x's...is it best to use a 2mm thickness of whatever kind of material??? And is the best material cardboard paper stock...cuz I was thinking of using Sintra again???

...I'm feeling a little verklempt, talk amongst yourselves!!!

Not to thread hijack here....but what version is the Fett called in ANH when they are with Jabba? Still SE? Cause he has on a standard ROTJ helmet in that scene.

Syllander, I think I saw in the Bounty Hunter Forum thread posted above where they're speaking about the requirements, someone mentions the ANH Fett and it gets quickly disregarded. From what I gathered, the ANH Fett would technically be another version altogether because of some things - the only one that I remember is that the shoulder bells are on the wrong sides. So, I think that the ANH Fett is just that, ANH Fett - not SE. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

eSKay - your Fett is wonderful and I'm jealous.

We need a pro here...but what I've gathered the SE Boba is the ANH Boba...it's the ESB bucket w/ everything else mostly ROTJ...except minor adjustments, some mentioned above!!!

TECHNICALLY its ANH SE Fett...and its super low res shots that arent in great focus...and in theory they CANT disregard it...they just dont want to come up with the CRL for it...Id say you could get a ROTJ approved with reverse shoulders...but what do I know...

Ive not build a helmet...only a JP, but with the templates for painting yes trial and error...

And Im really trying to do a end all ROTJ SE thread here soon...but with dragon con and paintwork...Ive been slacking its not been done before from what I know...and I think we have some really cool stuff to share...but I did give you guys a taste...theres 2 right gaunts used in ROTJ SE pics and 1 of those in the film on Don Beis...that gaunt is seen NO WHERE else...MOM AOSW C4 Exibition NO WHERE....its super red and barely weathered...its VERY close to the red on the girth as is the left gaunt...again only seen on Don Beis from what we have gathered and MAYBE in Jabbas palace not 100% sure its a bit out of focus, more on that left gaunt later as a few other things to add that arent normally talked about...there are 2 SE Photo shoots like I said...1 has tan pouches like in ROTJ proper...the other has a brown pouch from PP2 AND the PP2 gaunt, which is weahtered more and has a different hose connector then it does in C4 NOT in AOSW which brings me to there are FOUR ROTJ gaunts in theory...AND being you probably dont know the AOSW/C4/ROTJ SE shoot armor was ESB repainted. The "hero" armor had a dent on the right plate and paint was similar but not the same

Thanks Fett 4 Real...you've been a wealth of knowledge!!! I saw on an older thread 4 or 5 pages in...a guy who got a 6' BF original cardboard cutout (for his Bday)...and Boba had a red gauntlet and a yellow one (don't remember which was left or right)!!! And he had orange'ish/rust colored gloves...and some other differences!!! What the heck galaxy is he from???
