Screen-used armor attachments

New Hunter
I know there are arguments on all sides for how to attach your armor to your suit, whether it be bolts, snaps, or velcro. Forgive me for my newbiness, but what was actually used on the real boba/jango costume in the movie? How did they attach the real armor to the real costumes? I've always wondered that.:confused

I'm answering this because you're from Paducah and there's a chance we know each other...

The screen-used Boba armour had kind of like bolts on the back... the vest had grommets and the armour would bolt to the vest. I don't have a pic handy, but if you look at some of the high res ref pics from the AOSW display, etc you can almost see under the edge of the armour.

For all practical means, just use snaps. velcro will peel off the armor.

Thanks for that. If you hang around the MidSouth Garrison, you will see me sometime soon if you haven't already. I'm part of the Paducah Imperials and we've been hanging out a lot lately. I was at the Clarksville Toys R Us last weekend for the toy drive, and at the Predators game before that trooping as a Jedi.

velcro will peel off the armor.

Not if you:

a) clean the back of the armor (no paint) before you apply the Velcro, and
b) use Industrial Strength Velcro

Over time, the glue on the Velcro actually strengthens, and makes it almost impossible to remove from the back of the armor. Weird, I know.

I don't buy it... I've had Industrial velcro peel off of unpainted smooth clean ABS plastic, I had to glue it down with CA glue. From what I've seen the snaps just seem to hold better... for me.
:)
