Working on a scratch build Fett for my son and looking to re-purpose a flight suit that is currently olive drab. Is it possible to bleach it to a lighter color before trying to dye it blue? Has anyone had success trying this?

I tried to use RIT Color Remover, but it did not change the colro at all. I may have to just sew something myself. Nothing wrong with learning how to operate the wife's 1956 Pfaff sewing machine...
