ROTJ EE-33 & Real Webley questions <merged>

Ditto what MaxPlague said....smooth on the left side, checkered on the right side. It's nice having one to be able to answer that with 100% certainty. :)

Sorry about that....I was looking for one for so long, it just feels good to have it now. Trust me, even the guys who have the real webleys drool everytime they see one. Didn't mean to rub it in.... :)

Oh, gosh! No apology necessary, phantom :) Truth be known, I actually obtained one of these, too, not all that long ago.:D However, as much as I'd like to post pics of it, to prove that I also own the holy grail of Fett props, I lack the equipment to do so. So, I've been kinda' just keeping quiet about it (I've really gotta' start investing in some computer equipment, rather than putting all my extra money into this addictive hobby!:rolleyes)
Other than that, I can relate to the "good feeling" you're referring to, in the ownership of one of these babies, as well as the drooling theory (many is the time I've found myself standing in a shallow lake of the stuff, up to my neck! (Blame fettcicle for that one!:)) Nowadays, though, it's only as bad as having to change out of a pair of soaking wet sneakers, when I see one that's for sale:p. It does feel good, though, now, to be one of that small group of elite Fetts who have the option of dishing out the Webley envy, rather than being on the end imitating Pavlov's dog!:D
The reason, I posted being only 99.9% sure on msquared's grip inquiry, was because I wasn't certain that the grip that came with mine was the one that originally belonged to the No.1 Mk.1, as there are other grip patterns, that Webley made for some of their other guns (like the new pic of the black one that's posted above, which could of fit the stock bracket on mine just as well. I now know mine is the one that originally belonged to it (always good to know!:)).

Excuse the interruption but I was just curious where you got this pic of my old ROTJ rifle?? Was kinda nice to see it again... ;)

Has anyone tried the "Shotgun News"? You can find them in there pretty reasonable. My dad picked up a Webley for about $200 a couple of years ago. FFL transfers (for those of us in the States) are only about $50. And it's usually the sellers who know what we intend to use it for that stick us with the jacked up prices.

Are you talking about the ROTJ rifle that WPK said was his old one? It looks great, but the stock bracket isn't a webley bracket. Notice it's missing the piece that wraps around the back of the handle, and the grip plate isn't notched to accomodate the bracket? Cool rifle though. :)

Agreed, this is a cool example of the RotJ.:) I'm wondering why WPK had decided to part with it, though. I'm also wondering what material it might be made of, as your sharp observations about its slight deviations, from a real Webley, make that a question worth answering. A resin casting? 'Glass, maybe? It's not exactly easy to tell, from that pic, with the nice paintjob it has.
About the grip plate in question, though, I was just referring to the pic of that black grip plate by itself, that msquared posted would be the start of his new blaster.:)

WPK sold that blaster as it was RotJ and he's an ESB kinda guy, through and through.

I seem to recall that in his post when announcing the sale of the blaster he did mention it was sweet looking, then said words to the effect of "everything RotJ must go!".

Si

 Thanks for reminding me, Si! Even though WPK hasn't been hanging around here all that much lately, I don't know HOW I could have forgotten that he was the epitome of an ESB god! Now it all makes sense...:D

That is one of your friendly neighborhood webslinger's kits. It turned out awesome, almost causing me to paint my stained stock black.

Damn! That has to be the BEST looking Spidey kit I've ever seen made! And now it looks like I'm going to have bring out my paints again, to redo my own webslinger gun, if I know there's even the remotest possiblity of getting it to look like THAT!;)
