Made a trip to visit Mike and purchased one of his awesome blasters. Back in 2011, I purchased a blaster from a member on here who put together and painted Mike's kits and it was the best blaster I had seen. Unfortunately I had to sell my Fett in 2012 (and regret letting the blaster go of all the parts), but am now in the process of making another.

So this time around I would like to document my build. I have lightly sanded off all the seem lines and flashing on the greeblies. My next step is to fill in any air bubbles with bondo and sand everything down, then dremel the flashing off the T-track, and finally assemble and glue the pieces together. My goal here is to recreate the incredible quality of the blaster I received in 2011.

Awesome! Looking forward to your build, since I likewise just purchased a Stormrider kit. Mike has been awesome with updates, so I'm eagerly awaiting the blaster. I'm sure your thread will be invaluable to many of us who own this kit and want to build it in a way that does justice to it.

Although I am currently collecting for the ESB version, I do love the RotJ version. I'm excited to see how you turn this puppy out.

While I waited for some bondo and spot putty to cure, I went ahead and sanded the business ends of the T-track to 45 degrees. I did not want to do this by hand, because of the inconsistent result, so I decided to make my own bevel.

With some extra acrylic laying around, I laser cut the shapes out and hot glued them together.

Checked to make sure I did correctly what little math there was to possibly mess up

And a nice 45 degree cut.

How do you find the Stormrider kit? Is it movie length?
