    Re: ROTJ armor paint up

    so you just literally splattered it with a toothbrush? was it spray paint or acrylic paint? It's an amazing paint job you've got there. I wish mine was a nice!

    The way I did it on mine;
    use a rattle can that is "empty"
    it's not really empty-empty, but really close

    yep with a tooth brush... i used acrylic, i practic alot before trying on a scrap piece of sintra to see how the paint will lay.

    Re: ROTJ armor paint up

    toothbrush or kitchen type scrub brush both work. anything with stiff bristles. i use acrylic for that, since if i mess up i can wipe it off while its still wet

    Thanks mojo.. your armor spideyfett, darthsmiller where the threads to check out. I have to go back and lay a scratch layer on the armor. and was thinking about adds a white dust layer... but im not sure...

    The AOSW looks like it has white but i cant tell because the color are off on the pictures and it was shot behind glass. So i may just leave it be and toss a scratch layer on.

    You can go to Michele's and pick up an inexpensive fan brush, it will allow you a "finer" spatter effect. You can get the brush in a variety of sizes, from soft to rigid. I use a pencil to run the brush over to create the spatter rather than using my finger...better control

    Hope this helps for future projects

    Cheers!

    Me too. It splatters randomly all over the armor.

    airburshed it on.. If you using rattle cans i would agree on the empty thing. The problem with rattle can paint is that it shoots the paint too thick... You may want to stand back.. also look into kyrlons new line they have a new nossle that is adjustable. Ive used them on my jet pack and primers. and the jet or spray is more consistant.

    That's how I did mine years ago. I can't wait until I get the UPGRADE BUG when I start upgrading mine, wich is a BM armor, with some mods of my own to fit my body.

    Feels like DEJAVú once again....painting armor and jet pack, after 5 years.

    Seroiusly check out kylons new can line there nossles ARE GOLD!. There cans were acutally showcase in popluar mechnics magazine. Also you may want to try masking the area with news paper. If you checkout youtube watch how airbrush artist spray there artwork. They hold out a piece of paper or cardboard to block paint. I did this with my jet pack.
